Great work. Just fell in love with TAW again. Now it's time for me too dust off the keybord commands.

Thank You very much.

Happy hunting my fellow TAW's.

Is there any way to have all the new skins/hi-res HUD etc but keep the original DID terrain graphics? I rather liked the look of the original under glide but wish to keep the v2.0 improvments.

Wow! I didn't see that one coming!

Best bet is to install the Nostalgia mod first, then install your other mods on top of this. You will get a warning that you are about to overwrite files, but this is ok; GME keeps track of what is overwritten by what.

For HUDs, you have your choice of either the 1.5 HUD, or the British variant of the HUD (which says Reheat instead of Afterburner). Either way, you get the new HUD features.

'Wee' Mac,

I am also partial to the 'Glide' look of the original TAW for multiple reasons (but I must say the new terrain really grows on you after a while and becomes quite acceptable smile ). Some time ago I came up with a compromise solution which is very easy to implement. I have an extracted palette file that was an original D.I.D. palette but not used by the default game. Simply substituting that file for the original maintains the basic TAW terrain but with some highlights that are, IMHO, quite impressive. Let me know if your interested?

If it's not overly complicated, please post this solution. I'm curious as to what it does.

Thanks.

Guys,

If there is enough demand, I can create a mod package that involves the original terrain and palettes, and nothing else. I just didn't anticipate a wish to revert to the default terrain on a consistent basis.

Let me know, and I'll put one together. DKD, I'm also interested to see what palettes you are using for your described enhancement.

Yes, I really do love the new terrain myself. My interest is more along the lines of "what other options do we have?"

Well, this is definitely another option. If HF wants to add this in the form of a mod option that would be fine, but you are certainly welcome to a copy if you PM me with a destination address. The solution is a substituion palette for day time slot palettes found in the "colours" folder. I use it to substitute for 1000pal.col, 1200pal.col, 1400pal.col and 1800pal.col. It is quite simple to add, simply backup your current files you will be substituting. Place this file in your colours folder and copy it to create the total number of files you intend to substitute. Then rename the newly copied files to match the palette files names you are substituting.

HF: I'll fire an email off to you.
