Yes, great material but I'm sure about exciting as Neil Armstrong's last book.
Remember, they are engineers/well trained pilots - not Tom Clancy.

Most of us have had a brush with death.
"Sullie" had a particularly notable one.

Who was it that first said, "Flying is hours of boredom...followed by moments of sheer terror"?

I saw him on the Letterman Show along with co-pilot Jeff Skiles and it was an enjoyable interview to see. Skiles actually had more flying time and also has a great sense of humor. When retelling the story of his efforts to re-start the engines Sully said "it's hard to get good help" and they exchanged some humorous comments in both directions. Two professionals.

Which is why I like to read their story. No fancy over-the-top heroics, no attempts to squeeze tears out of their readers... Real guys that I can respect.

Sully is an unusual man put into extreme circumstances and used every bit of his expertise and training to save the lives of all on board that day. I'll wager that every passenger has bought the book.

OK, I have now read half of the book, just getting to the intense bits about the actual enmergency landing. This is one helluva read! Sully comes across as an intelligent, disciplined man, but also as someone not afraid of talking about his emotions. Also, it is refreshing that he doesn't have any religious references, the "Miracle on the Hudson" was truly a miracly of training, airplane design, rational thinking and courage.

The world would be so much of a better place with more people like him.
