I'm wondering if anybody knows if CFS2 will run on VISTA 64 bit ? I'd like to add this Naval Aircraft game to my functional games. It is dirt cheap, but if it doesn't run.....?

Jane's WW2 Fighters runs great on this 32 bit VISTA, I don't know how IT will run on 64 bit, either. Very little traffic over on the WW2F.org forum....

Any help ??

Bill

CFS 2 is 9 or 10 years old. wouldn't you be happier with something newer like IL2 '46?

Thanks, Kramer, but y'see I'm more interested in the 'simulating' part than the 'game' part, and it sure looked like fun bringing in that F4F-U onto the carrier! As I recently posted, I really have a hard time PLAYING these WW2 games due to my not being able to gauge depth, on my computer screen.

Your link [thanks] relates to CFS3.. back in EU again. The draw of CFS2 for me is Pacific...Navy.

Bill! IL-2 has Navy, bud! And the planes are beautiful. You like the Corsair, and you're going to fly that old one in CFS2? Take a look at the F4U in IL-2 and the cockpit, and tell me you'd rather fly CFS2.
If you don't want all of the planes the come with the IL-1946 package (must be about two-hundred) than all you have to do is pick up the Pacific Fighters part of the game. You won't be sorry.
It has Corsairs, Hellcats, Zero's...etc. And carriers. The old Lexington class, Essex, and the little CVE's. Hate to see you do CFS2 when you could be flying this.

Well.... I didn't know ANY of that! I 'had' thought the Ilusion 2 game was oriented to the Ruskie IL2....only. 'I'll be switched'. I better see if I can find a demo for it. I truly enjoy the radar, FLIR, etc in the Super-Hornet, but every so often after I've watched a DVD of my Victory at Sea collection, I get that old Pappy Boyington urge....

'Appreciate your time and trouble.

Yeah, Pappy WAS a Jar-Head, and an Ex-Flying Tiger, but when I think of BIG 14 foot props... he comes to mind... as the Corsair WAS a Corp bird...as well as upgrade from the F6F.......

Pooch... I'm guessing you actually mean : IL-2 Sturmovik:1946 [XP] ???

STILL 'dirt cheap' ! Do you think it runs on 64 bit VISTA? I have a bright, shiny, new Hi-Powered 64 bitter 'on the way'...

[OK... I didn't read the Reviews]...,"Out of the box to playing within 20 minutes. Very simple install into my 64-bit Vista Ultimate PC. Works great with my old MS Force feedback II joystick. No bugs or problems I can find."

Anything else you can add ??
