I have really missed EECH since I left W98. Several attempts to make it run on XP have failed.
Including the gwut1110.csv – version, with the right prior patches I believe.
Erratic mouse-behaviour and tilting choppers.

But the other day when I started the game, it suddenly worked! Very nice.

I don’t know if this is the right spot for a little help but I’ll try anyway.

1. I have done a some Free Flight to explore it again and first thing I encounter is, that the cannon no longer auto-aim…

2. I also enjoyed the F5/ext.view auto-follow earlier…

3. And the doors are now closed before motor-start, it looked nice to see them close.

4. But right now it’s erratic again. Dam!!!

Any help highly appreciated.

Not exactly sure what you mean by auto-aim. Depending on the cannontracking setting in eech.ini and the current targeting system it's either going to follow your head, the targeting system (TADS, radar), or fire straight ahead.

If you set enginestartup to 1 in eech.ini they will start open (but you will then also have to start the engines yourself). And you can of course open them yourself with ALT+C.

Earlier, if you chose Free Flight/Novice it had some kind of cannon-autotracking without having to meddle with ini-files or targeting-systems. But it is apparently nessesary now?

There is no difference between free flight and campaigns regarding avionics.

What is it that you want it to do? Could you be a bit more specific about how you expect it to behave?
