The next mission set is done and on its way to the testers. I thought you might like some random shots. The set has three themes: Robin Olds, the Intrepid and the Invasion of Cambodia. It is a particularly violent set but that's how it was.
First, General Olds:

Get the two MiGs and get home and they will have a ramp party for you at Ubon. Those of you who flew Gary Retterbush's missions to the end saw this same scene at Korat. It is a long way from Hanoi to Ubon but go to X8 and taxi in to park.

We needed some new iron to go with the Intrepid so Hinch made us the King and the Mahan. A friend sailed DD's on the Tonkin Gulf said that the Coontz Class could not move without a huge plume of black smoke so ours have them:

This one is from Big Mother, a rescue mission that has been in the works for months. The pilot is now the publisher of The Hook magazine for the Tailhook organization.

Then some shots from the Intrepid. (Did you know that she took a kamikaze strike at Okinawa?)
Cua Da Bac amd some nice new targets to pop:

and from a friend who flew Spads from CVS-11 who walked with a cane from the experience.
Collateral Damage in which the VC attacked from a village knowing what was certain to come.

Ron Ferry, a strike early in the war when ferries still crossed there.

And then we put on what is as close to a campaign as YAP does, the Invasion of Cambodia. This is ten strikes in rapid succession, some crossing the border into Cambodia and some crossing the border into North Vietnam for the first time in over 2 years.
You do the photo recon, escort, air strikes, post strike BDA, armed recon of Ban Karai Pass, attacks into Cambodian sanctuaries, strikes against retreating NVA, and pound the town of Snuol into rubble.

and just a shot of an Aeroflot airplane.

100% Fat Free. If we handed out these kinds of missions at the beginning of the series, nobody could fly them. By now, you are all good sticks and will find this very engrossing. Knowing what was going on makes it more real. Check the Google Earth target pictures at the website. Go over the maps. Then get in the mood because these are as good as we do. And since I flew most of them, they are some of my favorites.
