WINGS OVER TIMOR
Konfrontasi Indonesia: 1950-2000
A FULL-INSTALL MOD FOR WINGS OVER EUROPE

The A-Team is pleased to announce that it's done, and should be ready for download shortly. Be aware that this is a big package (about 450 Mb). This is our second full-install Mod, after the Spanish Civil War Mod, and it is comprehensive.

This is a full install Mod for Third Wire’s Wings over Europe flight sim, featuring the aircraft and weapons that were used (or might have been) in the long-running confrontation between Australia and Indonesia over Timor from 1950 to 2000. It is an all-inclusive Mod, with a completely new terrain and a full set of period aircraft, tanks, aircraft carriers and other ships, guns, trucks, infantry and other ground objects, plus all relevant period weapons, medals and menu screens.

It is designed for Wings over Europe, but should work with Wings over Vietnam, or Wings over Israel, or Strike Fighters (but not Strike Fighters Version 2, which has a different file structure).

There are four air forces for which you can fly, the RAAF (Royal Australian Air Force) and RAN (Royal Australian Navy Fleet Air Arm), their ANZAC comrades the RNZAF (Royal New Zealand Air Force), and the TNI-AU (Tentara Nasional Indonesia - Angkatan Udara, the Indonesian Air Force).

There is an all-new terrain by Edward, with a seasonal variations (wet and dry seasons), 60 different aircraft and over 70 different ground objects. All of the combat aircraft (fighters, bombers and strike aircraft) are flyable, for both sides. The aircraft are:

There are four (hypothetical) campaigns included, which give you a good feel for the aircraft on both sides in successive decades. There are also a number of scripted single missions, these include some very difficult strike and dogfight missions, as well as some routine training missions (including aircraft carrier take-off and landing practice).
The campaigns are:

1950: Independence.
The war of independence with the Dutch is over, and some limited sparring takes place in the Timor region. This campaign pits Mustang and Meteor and carrier-based Firefly and Sea Fury fighters, and the Lincoln bomber, against a variety of Indonesian aircraft left over from the War of Independence, including the F-2A Buffalo, Ki-43 Oscar and B-25J Mitchell, plus some newer P-51 Mustangs.

1965: Konfrontasi. Indonesian confrontation with the newly-created Malaysia in Borneo spills over into the Timor region. This campaign pits Australian Avon Sabres, Vampires and Canberra bombers, and carrier-based Sea Venoms, against an array of Soviet aircraft, MiG-15s, MiG-17s, MiG-19s and MiG -21s, plus Tu-16s and Il-28s.

1975: Annexation. The government in Portugal has collapsed, and the Portugese colony of East Timor has been abandoned. Civil disorder is rife, and an Indonesian invasion and annexation is imminent. This campaign has Mirage IIIOs, A-4G and A-4K Skyhawks and F-111s against Indonesian MiG-21s and Sabres, plus Tu-16s and Il-28s.

1999: Liberation. After 14 years of Indonesian rule and East Timorese resistance, freedom is approaching for the people of East Timor. This campaign has F/A-18 Hornets, Hawk 127s, A-4K Kahus and F-111s against Indonesian F-16As, F-5Es, Hawk 209s, and A-4E and A-4F Skyhawks.

There is a full ReadMe included in the Mod package.
