Congrats to the winners.

Car was undrivable after a few laps. I shouldn't have tampered with the setup or stuck to my original one, with which I practised a few hours last week. I had less problems then of course and drove constant laps of 1:27s to 1:29s. Best one today was an 1:28, apart from that 1:30s and many 1:40+ due to driver errors and increasing instability.

It seems I'm doing every possible stupid beginners error there is this year.

I got fed up of being in constant danger of spinning and realising I'm short of an explosion I decided it's better not to endanger others on the track and left.

Too bad about that purolator. I had a call I had to take on lap 10 and managed to pit and kill the engine and took the call, but no matter how many times I hit the ignition, couldn't get back up and running. I think I had turned off the ignition, so the starter would not start the car.

Was fun racing with Saghen, Alex, Birdski, Chris and Kevin while it lasted. It was looking to be a good race with lots of close side by side fun.

Hope I didn't disrupt too much. I was still very slow into the corners and bobbled a lot in the first chicane (I LOVE not having traction control, lol).

Hope to be back again...
biggrin

Good racing with you guys. I lost concentration when the auto-pit window came up while I still had over 10 laps of fuel. When I moved to turn it off, I went off the track. Didn't want to continue once I wasn't in a position to dice with anyone. Frustrating...

My feelings exactly. Decided to try the F1 1967 mod for a refreshing change, I've cooled down by now.

I got up to fourth right off the bat which was good, but I never practiced with more than 4 laps of fuel, which was bad, and it caused me to spin twice on the first lap and sent me to the back of the pack. After that I had a ton of lock ups and spins, but so did chris who I was closest to. So I had a bit of hope in having a good race with him, but then he stopped spinning and I didn't, so that was done. I was short a lap of fuel so I stopped with 5 minutes to go, but I was to fast entering and I got a drive-through. I served it but got DQ'ed because it was actually a stop-and-go.

Race report Monza

Qualifying

I q'd 3rd. I was a bit off my best time but was hopeful to make a good start.

Race

Made an ok start spun the tires a bit So was'nt able to gain on Ahmad, T1 was looking like it was shaping up to be dicey I somehow managed to come out mostly unscathed and we were 3 wide LC and Coutie I beleive exiting I squeezed between them..lol and was in 3rd again...
Col. went into the pits I thought he might of had jump start he did cut T1 so he served a drive thru I guess... He should of just yielded a position or 2 would of been fine by me. he was looking Quick.

After that L_C was all over me but I managed to hold him off and I was keeping even with Ahmad.

After a bunch of laps Ahmad and I were trading fastest laps the gap relatively stable around 2 seconds and I was slowly pulling away from L_C.

I pitted about lap 15 unfortunately I did'nt check for repair damage as i did'nt think it would matter because damage set to O%. I did have some rear wing damage from the start @ T1 and it cost me 15 seonds. so I lost out about 6 seconds on the stop.

Now I was hoping Ahmad was'nt 1 stopping and he pitted a lap or 2 later and was 8 seconds ahead.
from there I tried to keep consistant and hopefully something happens upfront but basically the gap stayed around 8 seconds for remainder of race...

good job everyone on a fine race

congrats to Ahmad for the win and L-C for 3rd.

Qualifying

I usually put in my best or close to my best lap in the qualifying session but I was 3 tenths off my PB today, but it was just enough for pole so no dramas.

Race

Got a decent start and defended the inside position into T1 against ColKurtz and kept the lead exiting the chicane. Unfortunately Col got a penalty for cutting it which is a shame as he had good pace, although I agree with David.

I was a few seconds ahead of David and holding the gap nicely. Halfway through the 1st stint with the fuel level halved I dropped the revs halfway and concentrated on lapping in the mid 24s while holding the gap back to David.

After the 1st round of pitstops I was about 8 seconds ahead and just wanted to manage the gap without pushing to the limit. Another consistent stint by both of us as the gap stayed at 8 seconds throughout.

Just before the 2nd round of pitstops I increased the revs and put in the fastest lap of a 1:24 flat to increase my lead slightly after I had pitted. But then I hit traffic at the wrong part and it went back down to 8 seconds. Again just driving to manage the gap and was able to increase it by a couple of seconds by the end.

Great race very consistent drive by David keeping me honest.. I almost lost the car twice but managed to keep it pointing forward and not lose too much time. Not sure what was up with Saghen as I seemed to pass him on the pit straight every couple of laps biggrin

Congrats to David for another 2nd position and LC, our Kimi Raikkonen, picking up another podium position in 3rd place. And well done to everybody great racing.

Looking forward to Singapore and expecting David to be very strong in the race as he was in Valencia.

We definitely need those higher curbs especially at the 2nd chicane smile

I'm about ready to give up.. I'm pushing as hard as i can and your cruising @ 1/2 boost... pitchafit

If you notice I closed the gap @ the faster circuits kinda like Force India has I expect to be back to a second off.
