I have an interesting problem I am trying to work through, hopefully someone can help me with. I am using a microsoft FF2 joystick. The game runs great with the exception of this issue. When I am flying, my controls, both joystick and keyboard, will stop responding. My plane will slowly spiral into the ground. I have to ctrl-alt-del to get out of the game.

When I open the game again, my mouse moves, but the mouse buttons and keyboard don't respond. I have to ctrl-alt-del again to get out of the game. the only way to get the in-game controls back is to reboot the computer. I have never seen a problem like this one before, and was wondering if anyone else has had it also?.........any advice?

Wild guess, but is one of your joystick buttons stuck on? Maybe check in the Game Controllers control panel.

No, the buttons seem to be working correctly. I have calibrated and checked the joystick operation and still can't find any thing unusual. I dont have a clue.

ROF seems to be cutting the usb connection to my Cougar throttle and Saitek rudders at times. Never had this problem before with any game. It doesn't effect my MSFF2. It never happened until I mapped the Mixture, and Radiator, to the Cougar throttle. ROF doesn't seem to like to much input from my 2nd or 3rd peripherial. When I lose input I notice the light has gone out at the USB hub to my controllers. I'll try bypassing the Hub.

After flying RoF my stick went floppy and I lost the (usually very good) spring-force in Il-2 grr. Could be coincidental of course, but best to note these things. Return-spring force seems to be back today but it makes me nervous I need some way to back up the stick's settings, MSFFB2

In Il-2 the stick does not behave like it does flying FSX or other MS sims. In those sims with FF on, there's that horrible non-linear 'kick' when you exceed a certain travel. In Il-2 the stick is linear in all throws FF enabled or disabled

In neoqb's Fokker mod for FSX, the stick had the nasty MS-style 'kick' - a flip from one state to another, something connected with FF

Now I'm seeing this 'kick' in the RoF stick. I don't want to see that.

Yes its unfortunate MS doesn't support its own stick software anymore. I usually don't turn on the FF option, but whats really annoying is the loss of stick tension. I don't fly OFF because the centering tension turns off just as the mission finishes loading. The only game that my MSFF2 works properly is in IL-2 Obviously some sort of code bug between the MSSF2 software and the game FF and centering software.

I wish I could just bypass any game software and input the centering force thru a reostat of some sort.
