Love watching those T-38C's take off at Randolph over I-10. They scream off the runway it seems.

So what you're saying is that you may end up flying a cargo plane full of rubber dog sh*t out of Hong Kong? biggrin

Hong Kong? Two engines? Cargo? I don't mind.

UAV is the worst nightmare.

Looking around my old posts and stumbled on this... UAVs eh. Carma is a bieatch.

Edit. Yeah I'm drunk.

Edit2, 300K views? Wow.

Well, at least you are flying something. After 3 very interesting years as a ground launch cruise missile launch control officer, I spent 2 miserable years in a command post before getting out as a captain. My best friend is an O-6 at Peterson and did most of his time in space command and will retire this summer. Long story short, enjoy your time as a junior officer because it gets less and less fun as you climb up the ranks. Best of luck in your flying career. I know you might feel frustrated flying UAV's but be thankful for the opportunity. I'm sure you will eventually be in the sky soon. Thank you for your service.

I should have about 1.5 years left in this assignment. Mission in interesting at times, but I hate this aircraft with a passion.

any idea what you will be tasked with as your next airframe? I assume since you did the tone it would be multiengine/cargo type. I follow a guys blog that is learning the C5 right now, just did a 7 month tour on a MC-12 straight out of UPT. Just think, do this crappy airframe now and hopefully you will land something you like.

I don't know. It depends on availability and AF needs. Can you post a link of c5 guy? I've always been interested in that aircraft.

Congrats and congrats!

Military Aviator - wow; your Big Red "You Are Here" Arrow of life is in a very special place.

UAV - while tough in the culture of the USAF and aviator community, it's probably one of the most valuable military missions in the arena of actual national defense.

And your follow up assignment will be rocking if you apply yourself and get involved in the larger USAF community.

A few notes on the whole thread:

Take all those stacks of books for any of the aircraft. Pull off the front cover and flip it over. With a large crayon write down everything needed to fly a Champ, from pre- to post- flight.

Interesting that they have an Eight Track player below the screen. Push to swing the door sideways, right?

And your low level flying is my medium to high!
