Just wishing to add my two cents.
th
I'm really glad with the launch of this product. I'm defently looking to buy this, probably not right off at launch because I'll probably have to save up bit. But there are a couple of things I really wish you had done diferently. First like has been said before there really should be more HAT's on the stick. The microstick on the stick is two fold for me, it would have been better on the throttle, but I can see the reason to put it on the stick also, ideally? Two Microsticks! One on the stick the other on the throttle.
Secondly Again like has been said, I think it's a real design flaw to have put the trims on the stick base, they really belonged on the throttle base. Those collored buttons? Nice but could have done without.
I do have a question about the trims though, it has been already replied that they have a limit in their travel (and unlike someone's opinion, on lockonfiles review I think, I do not agree they should have a detent they shouldn't actually, the other rotaries on the throttle however should) what's I would like to ask is if the trims are multi-turn or regular 270º or so travel?
I have read something about the trim and stick centering when you let go of it. I don't know if I understood the issue fully, and I have never really tried a FF stick in my life (well actually once I did for 5 minues but I'm not counting that) but as far as I undertand the stick kind of dies out because before was working agaisnt the hand that held it, where as in beeing let go an optical sensor detects this and put's it in a sort of self centering mode. The thing is not beeing a real pilot and all but the way I undertand forces in flight in straight and level the forces you feel shouldn't be trying to yank the stick out of your hand but rather keep it rather centered in the first place (with oscilations and such from airflow and movement) because the airflow on the control surfaces forces them to lineup with the direction of the said flow. Now when we trim the aircraft we actually offset the cetering of the stick because we have offset the control surfaces. Through all of this it's maily when trying to move the stick that we will feel oposing forces because we are moving them agains't the force that the airflow actuates on the control surfaces. From what I read I'm not shure this is how FF is beeing implemented. but if it isn't It should, with I'm sure much better input from people with actuall flight experience.
Anyway just my two cents, and me pointing out what I feel are shortcomings on the product doen't mean I don't think It's a great product with no other direct rivals on the market for what it offers at the moment.
P.S the extra micro switch should not have been a problem since you are detecting the setup as 3 devices you could has you know have gone to 24 axes.
P.S.2 Really would have liked the possibility to connect each controller separate from the others, but I'm sure a lot of people apreciate the single USB port use.
