ClickyThis is not good news, in my opinion. Marvel has a lot of gritty, mature titles and story lines, and having Disney take over, you can bet that will change. Meet Tony Stark, the former alcoholic, womanizing industrialist. He's all about flowers and ponies now...

Stan never left the comics, he still writes some stories, BUT he is nothing but a writer, he sold the characters he invented YEARS ago, he has no say in any matter, and he is a great spokesman for the company, i dare you find any interview where he put himself against the company decision. He is also a great guy, a friend of mine had the oportunity to meet him.
Btw i guess there was more then meet the eye in those marvel-disney thematic toys line then. And Marvel would never acept any change on its comics, the movies though, well thats another story, and from what we see, they are not very mature so who cares......spider-man is targeted at kids-teens, F4 at kids, daredevil at teens, electra was so bad must be targeted at toadlers, but had a very preteen vibe, xmen to teens. so it won't affect the franchise much.

I met Stan several times. Even had lunch with him once. Stan was/is very fond of the Stage Deli (as am I).
A company I used to work for was two floors above the Marvel offices. Nice bunch of people that work there.

You lucky dog! Stan Lee is a man I would love to have lunch and a little discussion with. I used to live and breathe Marvel comics when I was a kid. I had a stack of them in my room for quite a while, which I guess we threw out at some point.
Makes you sigh and wish you had better sense.

I'd be willing to bet they're going to use Marvel's characters and likenesses in their theme parks- turn California Adventure into Fantastic Four Land or something like that. As for Disney taking on controversial material, at the risk of tiptoeing into WCE territory, don't forget that the company pretty much wrote the book on ensuring equality for their employees based on sexual preference.

Hopefully Disney will stay "hands-off" on creative content.

IMO the violence in Marvel movies doesn't need to go beyond what is already explored in "Pirates of the Caribbean"
Wait, uh ok granted, I haven't seen the movie Wolverine.
But if it was DC... OMG DC... They'll have to rewrite a plethora of history - No more girlfriends killed and stuck in the refrigerator, or wives raped by villains.
