That's one of the reasons why skin templates access hasn't been given by neoqb yet.

Using such skins may cause problems with the game. Custom skins will be made available by neoqb in the nearish-future, they have said as much, but there was some technical reasons why it was not allowed, so use at your own risk.

Its odd having someone tell a sim community not to mod their game because it might cause problems LOL. I think I will whip up a Josef Mai skin and stability be damned!

You can see skins of your own side in MP, we use them regularly for ID purposes. I don't know if the other side can see them.

RoF was vert- out of the box, making it terrible to play on triplehead, and Jason, as publisher, promised it would be fixed "as soon as possible", and voila - game is hor+ , so no doubt custom skins will be available soon.

Can someone translate the slang/code being used? vert- hor+ ??

To translate a standard 4:3 image to wide-screen (which Triplehead2Go is an extreme variant of) without distortion you have two options:

vert-: You keep the horizontal viewport and reduce the vertical to attain the aspect ratio. This reduces your field of vision (vertically).

hor+: You keep the vertical viewport and expand the horizontal viewport to attain the aspect ratio. This increases your field of vision (horizontally).

It seems that the only things people who buy this game can do is wait for the guys who made it to fix it, skin it, mission it, you name it....

Oh wait, yeah, they can buy airplanes and get lectured, which seems kinda like a CYA from the SELLER just in case, like other aspects of this game, user made elements will not work as we have become used to things working in modern games.

That is a very good looking skin....shame on whoever made it.

It is said, though, that at the very bottom of Pandora's Box, after all the Evils had escaped, lay "Hope".

Let us hope that more community members/users step forward to release badly needed additions and improvements to the anemic ROF as it came out of its own Box, which some say was a premature birth.

The new skin is quite nice...I've flown it with pleasure...and certainly thus far with none of the threatened 'problems' from doing so.

I apologize....I am still missing the point. I run ROF in widescreen mode 1920X1080(selected in ROF Settings) without any manual adjusting...what am I missing? Did ROF Patch do something with the Aspect Ratio or Field of View that I missed? If it improved the situation, Kudos to them...even if I didn't even know that we had a problem.

You don't need to adjust anything. Before (the patch) the picture was narrower vertically to show undistorted widescreen resolution. Now it is wider horizontally to achieve that. Your field of view is now (with hor+) greater than before (with vert-).

For a lovely cost no doubt.. Perhaps they'll charge $3.81 USD per skin.

All I said was that use made skins are not officially supported yet, but eventually will be and if you use a custom skin at the moment you may experience something not right. i.e. a white plane in MP or something. I didn't say you couldn't make skins in fact I encourage all third parties to do whatever you can. There is NEVER anything sinister in what I post, but you would never know it by reading these boards.

Why is it this crowd gets nastier and nastier with each day? It makes visiting here a really unpleasant experience when I'm only trying to help and pass along some info.

I get it, some, several, many, millions of you are dissppointed and apparently angry about ROF's features or lack thereof. I pass all reasonable opinions and discussions along to neoqb, but I've never seen such a vitriol in discussing a game or sim. I used to think it was just passion that fueled these boards, but now I don't know. It's just become mean spirited. Man, either I was really wrong about the nature of flight-sim fans or I was wrong about SimHQ. I wish I was getting rich off ROF, at least I'd have a good reason to keep getting pounded.

And let me say to those that do like ROF and post in its defense and my defense I appreciate it VERY much, but please don't feel obligated to say anything else. Just keep flying and having fun. I know there are those that are content to wait for more improvements and I will continue to work with neoqb to give you what you want and deserve.

I don't see the discussion moving in a more positive direction until more improvements are released and neoqb puts out some more information. Might be time for a break for me in light of that. Maverick go get your leash.
