Hi,

Just got my copy of YAP2 and did an installation as stated in the docs:

1. WoV
2. Patch 1&2
3. YAP2

When I now start the game I get to the main menu, can do settings etc but as soon as I want to start a single mission, campaign or instant action I'm finding myself on the desktop again.

I'm running the latest NVIDIA whql drivers for my GTX285 but left all quality settings to default aka application governemnt.

Unfortunately I couldn't find any help to this sort of problem. Even tried the given help for the "ESC" CTD scenario but no change.

Have not had that one before. Off the top, I suspect a Direct X problem. Go get the latest DX9 again and try that. If that doesnt work, try an uninstall/reinstall to a folder on your desktop, rather than your HD, running the game from there. In the mean time I'll check around for that specific problem and possible solution.

I'm also flying Wings over Europe which works flawlessly. It's version "Wings Over Europe Patch v05.25.06"

Maybe this helps identifying where the problem is.

Is there some configuration I can set to some sort of "safe mode"? Lower settings or something? Trying to run the WoV version that came in the bundle as standalone. Maybe it works without YAP2

Ok, knowing that WoE works but WoV refuses I've thrown away everything and started the installation again.

Didn'T do anything differently beside starting the game after each step. After applying both patches it started but had the "ESC"-CTD.
After applying YAP2 it.... STILL started! The "ESC"-CTD disappeared as well. Hurrah!

Still don'T know what went wrong but I'm happy!

Glad you got it worked out. Was leaning towards a registry screw up. Gotta luv Vista.
