I have seen in a post that if you can't see the in-game menu when the game loads -- and I can't -- all I see is a rotating plane -- then one should go the the start config file and change the resolution. I use notepad to go to this file, but it won't accept changes I make. Any advice on how to get notepad to accept the changes in this file?

Actually there are two view modes: fullscreen and windowed. Make sure you are using fullscreen.

The passage in the file should look similar to the following:

You can try setting different resolutions like 1024 x 768. If this does not help and you get the impression that parts of the splash screen are cut off, you might want to readjust the picture size in your monitorīs on screen display or in your gfx cards monitor adjustment menu.

Also make sur that the file is not write protected by accident.

I am having the same issue, with screen being cut off. in my NVIDIA control panel, i can run 800x600 or 1024x 786. I tried manualy adjusting the settings in the notepad, but no effect in game. When I run fullscreen, game will not start. I tried to adjust resloution on game control tab, but it is blank. any ideas/workarounds?
