With some leave to burn up I took the opportunity to head into the heart of RAF low-flying country in North Wales. An early start and a bit of a hike uphill required but well worth it when planes are going past your nose (or below it) at 400mph.

Most numerous type on the day was surprisingly some French Alpha Jets that've been having a bit of an exchange visit at RAF Valley. They probably did about 20 passes over the course of the day.

They were also the lowest flying thing on the day, this next shot should give you an idea just HOW low...

No shortage of Hawks given proxmity to RAF Valley.

Of course if we can see them then they can see us. You may note the backseater on this one giving it the rock n roll horns gesture.

Also had single pass from a Tornado GR4

As well as a Eurofighter Typhoon painted up for export to Saudi Arabia

And finally a couple of passes of an RAF Herc'. Couldn't quite get the shutter slow enough for full prop blue with shooting handheld and no IS or similar.

Full set from the day can be found here

RAW. A little bit more work required but rude not to in these times of dirt cheap memory cards.
