Reading Exhausted looks like all YAP users are just WOV users modding their sim, and he wonders why to pay for a mod when you have planes, trees, troops, whatever for free...

I think there is also a good deal of YAP customers like me: I never was interested in Third Wire simulators, I will never be interested (it is not my kind of sim, just that, not mean is bad or worst than others) and I don't give a damn about any mods for it or how many planes I can put in there. You can even give me for free all the new objects YAP has created and I'd tell you, thanks but, they have no use for me, I don't fly this sim.

But I am paying happily for every mission set, because that's what I buy, the missions, the war stories, because I love military aviation, history, planes and a love to learn about Vietnam airwar ... I normally read books but I saw this was a really original and attractive way of telling stories that I REALLY WANT TO HEAR. I can see they really put a lot of effort and passion on these histories.

So people like Exhausted, not interested in anything else than objetcs for their sim and with a really tight budget, not interested in paying for some good war stories (buddy, I bet it will be much more expensive to invite to a beer to all those thirsty veteran warriors to get their tales wink ) I can understand they wont pay for YAP and prefer free modding sources, that's ok. But in your complaining (beside doing some false/wrong statements as it looks) you have totally missed the point of YAP, and they don't lie, in their web they don't sell you eyecandy for your sim, those are just the means for the final product: the war tale. I saw very clear in their web and that's why I got hooked.

Cheers

Well I guess you should buy it Mike - because all the cockpits are new higher poly count ones - you get 3 different pits for F-100 alone - all have more funtionality. The RHAW code has been totally rewritten to a vector type display AN/APR-25(V) and IP-957/APR-36(V) - the squares are long gone.
Most of the 3D models have been reworked and the skins are higher res not least more improvements in graphics (for DX10) and more AI work.
New 3D models are included for the A-7C/D/E with pits and the A-1H/J and most of the F-8 versions are there now.

Please to see he's made the loadouts more realistic in regards to ECM pods and has added an ALQ-101 out of the box.

The new file system is ace - keeps the core files separate meaning newbies are less likely to delete dlls etc - and the ability to merge the whole lot means patching once for all the SF2 installs - if you like that sort off thing.

Even works on nearly decade old Operating Systems burnout

Thanks but I already own it. I didn't care for the cockpits that much - I prefer the hi-res ones available as freeware or the stock ones for WOV. The higher res skins are already done in YAP2 by Sundowner for most everything.

The F-4s were a disappointment as some of the airplane 3D model errors are still there (wrong shape nose gear doors still - and no Falcon rails on the F-4D or E models, nose RHAW bulge on the D still does not look quite right, etc. - yes I know, rivet counting again...). I installed it and was trying to convert YAP2 over to it, but gave up and uninstalled it.

I would encourage buying it to support TK, but it is no replacement for YAP installed in WOV in any way.

Mike
