So you want to play the 360 and have the video and audio come out the laptop display/speakers?

That's a good question. It sounds simple enough, but I have no idea. I'll be pondering this one at work probably.

THe HDMI on your lappy is an output, to output your desktop to your HDTV

The CHEAPEST HDMI INput tuner with HDCP ENabled is like $2300.xx, the Cheapest Analog HD Tuner Card is PCIe 4x and is about $299ish.

I Use the Black Magic Intensity Pro w/ all the extras that Black Magic Offers (Adapters), and I can play 720p Xbox 360 in realtime, while recording. I dont know of any USB2.0 or Mobile solution device with an HDMI HDCP INPUT or YPrPb inputs.

I saw this exact question asked in Official XBox Magazine recently and they said, essentially, that the simply answer is "No, it can't be done."

I'm wondering, why not just carry around an HDMI LCD monitor with built-in speakers for the job that's roughly the same size as a laptop screen?

I posted this somewhere else, but for HD I don't know a way to do it. For 480p you can by using the regular component/composite connector from the 360. On the cable itself, switch it to SDTV. On HDTV, the composite video cable is disabled. On SDTV, they area ll active. Use the component video cable to go to the tv, use the component to hook something like this up (this is the one I use):
http://www.amazon.com/Diamond-VC500-Touch-Capture-Device/dp/B000VM60I8/ref=pd_cp_e_1

It's just SD, but it's good enough for youtube videos and cheap.
Use the audio outputs from the tv.

If all you want is 480i, get a cheap USB Tuner with a S-Video input.

There Are S-Video -> USB 2.0 Cables on Amazon, they range from $20-$50

thats as high as your gonna get quality wise though, there are no USB/PCM Cards that have UnEncrypted HDMI or RCA YPrPB Inputs.

There are Only 2 HD Interface Cards on the market Capable of Recording 720p and 1080i/p from an Unencrytped source .

Aja XENA LHe [PCI-e] (Runs from $999.99-$1500+)
In Order to get YPrPb (Which you still have to get an adapter to make them RCA INputs), you have to get the LHe / PCI-e Version.

BlackMagic Intensity PRO [PCI-e] ($349)
In Order to Use the RCA YPrPb you have to get the Pro Version.

Myself and a few others here at SimHQ as well as countless others that I've helped use the Black Magic Intensity Pro.

I Use it for both recording and playing, since I can just full screen the recording APP and play on my PC's LCD in HiDef.
