Salute!

This is the second part to the using triggers tutorial.

Aim: Use an approaching plane to trigger another plane to spawn and take off.

Using the previous example as a template, we will add a plane and direct it to fly over the aerodrome. When it reaches a waypoint it will trigger the target plane to appear and take off. Obviously a plane suddenly appearing out of nowhere is not realistic, but we are simply here to observe how spawning by a trigger works.

The first picture shows an overview of the ME with the Intruder plane being started by the Mission Begin icon in the top left hand corner. If flies to the drome to the waypoint. When it reaches the drome it triggers off the spawning of the Test plane then causes it to take off.

If you follow the icons from top to bottom you will see the logical sequence play out.

The two other photos show the important bits enlarged.

Also a copy of the mission is provided.

WayPoint_Trigger

When the mission starts you will be on the drome in a Fokker. If you switch to an enemy external view you will see the Spad fly over the drome then the second Fokker will spawn and takeoff.

Thanks for the example, D_T!

Do you know if a command:takeoff is necessary for an aircraft that is set to airstart?

ok, no worries, thanks for clarifying! I'm looking forward to kicking this trigger thing around once I can get the 1.0004 patch down and installed.
