Hi everyone,
I just got YAP2 in the mail and installed it. For the most part it's working great, but I've got a problem with mission pack #3. I'm missing the C-130A, and the mission "Khe Sahn LAPES" (I assume it's not showing up because the aircraft isn't there).

I looked in the Objects/Aircraft folder and didn't see any C-130A (I DID see a C-130E though), there IS a "6802016 Khe Sahn LAPES.msn" in my mission folder though. I opened up the .msn file with notepad and found that it uses the C-130E aircraft, but for some reason it just won't show up in single missions in WOV. I also can't select a C-130 to create my own single mission.

Anybody run into this before? I thought it was a corrupt download, so I redownloaded it and ran the installer again (over the first attempt mission pack), still no luck.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

You have something screwed up. We don't have a C-130A and there is no mission by that name.

Yeah sorry, my mission file is called "680216 Khe Sanh LAPES.msn", I just made a typo. The website says it's a C-130A for the mission so that's what I was expecting, but you're right it's supposed to be an E model.

I looked in my C-130E folder in Objects/Aircraft and found that it was missing a bunch of stuff. It only has a "SEACamo" folder and a "C-130E_COCKPIT" file when everything else has avionics and other things.

I talked to Mike in an email and explained this to him. I'm hoping he'll be able to email me the contents of the folder so I can just copy them in there. I've got no idea how this happened, but that looks to be the problem.

Here's a flash. The C-130E is in Set 2. The LAPES drop at Khe Sanh is in Set 3. You bought them out of sequence. You will probably have a lot more errors...like missing aircraft carriers, etc.

That explains it. I didn't realize I had to buy set 2 for set 3 to work.

It's not just a marketing gimmick. It's the only way we can deliver all this stuff. Otherwise for us to provide the props for every mission every time, we would have to hand out the Spad, Huey, Constellation, Ticonderoga, etc. over and over again. The B-26K and AC-130 are huge. In the end, it would choke. At the end of YAP1, it had become impossible to send out missions because of the compromises we had to make. It's easy to gain respect for TK's choices at the beginning of WOV.

Oh yeah, I wasn't implying it was a marketing scheme or something. I understand how huge all the downloads would be if you had to download all that data every time. Even if it were a marketing scheme, it's your decision as developer what to charge for what.

Is there any chance you would make the common data available on the website for members? I don't think I can justify spending $150 just to get the AC130 mission that I've been dying for in MP #9

I'm not saying I know the specifics of all the logistical problems involved here, just throwing out ideas.
