I've been to Rfactorcentral and I'm a bit bewildered by all the different mods, etc. I don't have the full game yet but I did run the trial version a very long time ago.

If I was going to buy it now, I'd mainly be interested in F1 action from fairly recent seasons. So are there all-in-one downloads or do you load the cars separate from the tracks? Do you setup your own season (making a list of tracks, etc)? If so, can you race multiple seasons in a career? Switch teams? Is there separate qualifying? It looked like the most recent cars for download were 2008. Is it difficult to create custom teams? I guess overall, if I wanted a total F1 sim, what areas would or wouldn't be covered by rFactor?

Sorry, that's a lot of questions but I'm getting the F1 bug again for the first time since around 2001 (I was frankly tired of Schumacher) and I'm just catching up with the current state of the sport.
