I've got an i920 with 3GB RAM running XP, and an nvidia 260 GTX with 896mb.

Anyone have something comparable? What are your 3D settings in the nvidia control panel set to? I've been messing around and trying things, but could use some suggestions.
Thanks!

BuB

download and install nhancer program for Nvidia cards

make sure to uncheck all of the RoF settings called 'Post Effects'

I am running nhancer @ 8x AA/AF with great results...

Heywoooood,
Are those the only settings you have enabled for RoF? I'm familiar with the 3D control panel, so I dont see the need for another app. to control it, unless nhancer really helps in some way...?

Any specific 3D settings for the control panel are apprecated! smile

Broadside,

Just run everything on high except landscape put at medium. Go 4X AA and 8X AF and Vsync. Enable post effects and in your case I would turn off bloom to get a few frames more. You probably won't miss the bloom as it doesn't do that much in this sim.

Simple. Done. Fly.

Or you can do what heywood said, but that's not canon.

Jason

I have an E8600 (not o/c'ed) with a GF260 and 3GB RAM. I set FSAA and AF controlled by the application in the nVidia control panel, all RoF graphics on high, FSAA at 4X and AF at 8X, postprocessing all ON (except bloom and blood), res at 1680x1050. The memory usage is up to 86%, however it runs smoothly during 1vs1 dogfights.

When I want more planes I have to turn landscape on medium (memory usage drops at 46%).

My OS is WinXP SP3 with 185.85 drivers and DX9.0c March 2009 release.

BUB is looking for a guide to the best 3D settings to run RoF in the Nvidia control panel ... not graphic options in the game itself. Things like v-sync on or off, clamp or allow texture anisotropic filtering, multi-core threading optimisation (on for RoF presumably), do you set AA and AF to over-ride the settings in RoF or use application controlled ... all that sort of stuff. I'd be interested too.

You can have hours of fun just playing around with it ! skyisfalling
