I think those are fences. For sitting.

For sitting on?

Hmm I am not sure, I will decide another time Smile2

Here is a similar case Friendo to the pilot with the pistol thread. In UK we have a saying "You are sitting on the fence" This means that you are not deciding about something, both sides of the argument have similar value. You decide not to make a decision and 'sit on the fence', the dividing line, in No-Man's land

Are there Russian and German crosswords in Russian and German newspapers? I really should know. But any time is a good time to become more educated about our neighbours Smile2

High over the Front
Well, I was in the infantry and not a tanker but...

I believe WW1 tanks carried large (and I mean large - I've seen photos) bundles of sticks or wood they would drop in a ditch or trench (think they were called "fascines" - I think!) to assist in crossing them.

Also wood was carried (the "railroad ties") to throw under the tread if mud or traction became an issue.

Those are my thoughts anyway. I'm sure we have a WW1 tank expert lurking somewhere.

Amazing screen shots!
One thing I wish they would do is get some variety in their ground cover.. everything seems to be grass. I've noticed this in the videos too, like on the airfield, all grass, not sign of dirt or worn areas or landing areas.. some one must have a green thumb on the team. biggrin

Hey Tvrdi, the photobucket links don't work.

I suggested they move this thread to the apposite sub-forum and make it a sticky.

Hey, Tvrdi added a LOT of screenies to his posting on page one of this thread, there's a SPAD making fireworks, clouds that look like a painting and then lots and lots of artillery explosions from Ross_DiFiS' movie, I think. Very good explosions, and it is interesting to see them "frozen" to really appreciate the graphics...

WOW! dance And can you see any repeating patterns in the ground textures? What a job!

Smosh, that shot reminds me of FS-WWI, and watching the dogfight from the ground, and hoping the session ends soon so a new one can start up (thinkin' "oh good, someone else just got shot down")! hahaha
