Just bought SH4. Now I just need to find a place that sells just the U-boat addon, since it seems that most of the good mods nowadays require that at least.

Here are a couple:

I really don't know if you can obtain a "boxed" copy.

Enjoy!

Hmm looks like the Ubisoft store it is. the Steam version only works if you downloaded the original game from steam as well. Drats.

Just picked up this game and the uboat missions from steam. It looks great even without the mods. However, I love tinkering with sims. I noticed a lot of mods available. Are there any that are "must have" mods, or are they all a must. Do any conflict with one another?

Thanks,

Rob

Scoobe, if you don`t already have this site, then here`s a link. You find tons of mods for SH4, and U-Boat missions. There`s also some great mods for the Pacific, and yes some of the mods conflict with one another, so don`t be afraid to tell them you begining to mod the sim. If you need help, or advice don`t hesitate to search the forums, or ask.

I've got SH4 1.4 and I'm currently using:

-Trigger Maru overhaul (very good)
-Real environment mod (very good)
-Transatlantic BBC radio mod
-textures for warships

Trigger Maru is a super mod and contains lots of enhancements.

Hey Zorg12, Thanks for posting what mods your using. I downloaded Trigger Maru overhaul. I have not installed it yet, but does it conflict with Real Enviornment? Also what order should they be installed, if any?

I have 4 installs of SH4, Stock, RFB, TMO, FOR. I`m playing my TMO at present. I also have a JSGME install for each. TMO 1.7 is.

For it to work you need to first install Trigger Maru, then install Real Environment (they alter some of the same files).

Looks good to me. that should provide some nice gameplay. You are using SH4 1.5 right? Is there is big difference to SH4 1.4?

Not the version of TMO I am using (using SH4 1.4). I have to install RE to have those custom waves.

Hi robmypro,
Ensure that you mod your Silent Hunter(s) using "JSGME" http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=171237
Here is the download link to the newest version of JSGME http://www.users.on.net/~jscones/software/

Here is "RE" just follow the instruct... http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=148682
I have a clean patched copy of SH3, SH4, and SH5 just as backup: BUT, if you EXPORT a
registry file for each "NEW PATCHED VERSION" you won't need that backup, providing you use JSGME.
You may also use MultiSH4 http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=108215
And SH3 Commander. You have got a lot of reading ahead.

BTW my Silent Hunter programs\sims are installed on my "D" Drive at Games\Ubisoft...
and I have dat reg files for every install.

Thanks for the help! Okay I have JSGME installed. I looked at the RE link but I think it was the wrong page? I didn't see RE mentioned anywhere.

Sorry. Here you go :http://www.silenthuntermods.com/forum/index.php?PHPSESSID=a5d4cf525350de9572e561250b96c0e3&topic=145.0
Scroll down the page.
Read up on it here: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=149596

Jaeger

P.S Using JSGME is best because if there's a conflict with another installed mod it'll shout at you.
Go to the "Document" folder of the mod which you're about to install and read the mod creator's instructions.

I think RE is installed with TMO 2.2
So dont install it to TMO 2.2

Here's part of the instructions from TMO:
Environmental effects

Trigger Maru has incorporated the core aspects of “Environmental mod version 5.0”, some elements of
the “Real Environments mod.”, and some of it's own tweaks to come up with a someone unique
environment. This have been done to ensure that other core aspects of TMO work properly.

Installing another Environmental mod over TMO is not recommended.
