Yes, I just played my first MP and had my first VICTORY! It was a 4 against 6 match and I flew the Spad on the side with 4! No lag, awesome feel dogfighting against human opponents! I LOVE IT!

I can only find one server to play ROF MP (the US 10 minute server using a coop mission).

I have played two MP games and I enjoyed both.

I am , however, disappointed in only one 10 minute server and no dog fighting servers. Again, this did not meet my expectations.

IMHO, ROF delivered MP unfinished and unpolished.

Agree. Especially as this was where we were led to believe the game's direction was heading.

If you know you are going to have problems I think you're best to spend your time trying to get one facet of the game up to speed for release (MP or SP) and let the community know that you will work on the rest. Currently they've let down both sides of the community.

I think it's Bull***t myself. For what ever reason I thought this would be a MMO like RB3D or Aces2 or WarBirds...etc...Or even where you can just set up a direct IP connect for crying out loud. Very disapointing as far as the MP goes. I did some MP on the dedicated US server and hell if I know if I got shot down by a person or AI, or if I shot an AI down instead of a person. Like I said, veeerrryyy disapointing. .....I love the eye candy and the FM, very well done but MP sucks to the MAX. Tried to set up a server (Not dedicated) so as to practice with my brother and wasted hours trying to get it figured out. I guess you can't. Should not have to do this with any game.

Can someone please verify that currently the only way to host a game yourself is to have the hosting computer assigned a public IP address? I spent a bunch of time trying to host my own game only to find in the troubleshooting section that it's apparently not possible to host behind a router at this time. From all I've read, NAT'd hosting is not yet possible, either dedicated or peer-to-peer.

After a couple tries, my friend and I ended up jumping on only server we could see - the US dedicated one. We both had a great time in the limited scenario and will probably try that again tonight, but I'd really like to try some of the other scenarios clearly available for co-op MP.

Also, is there a way to see other servers available around the world? Is the server list a product of your profile or otherwise?

Either way, I'm really looking forward to seeing more!

Edit: well, now according to this, nat'd hosting is possible. I never did anything with the net.cfg, so I guess I'll try that config file next.

RE-Edit: Well, maybe not. Looks like Brigstock couldn't get it to work. Slapnut says the net.cfg goggles do nothing.

wow .. if they can really get even 100 in a game stable, this will ROCK (once more plane types flyable of course)

999 ? ... if possible ( new Sun game server cluster ?) .. would be the most incredible online combat flight sim ever .. imagine the possibilities for stategic leadership and squad teamwork to win a days long tounament .. historical recreations .. wow

this would be, if true, the biggest jump in online play for combat flight sim since RBII went from P2P to RB3D's free server-client software ( first in any game, BTW )

It's just a screenshot mock up they did for the manual. Programmers always put in random and ridiculous data for such screens. I know because i do it, too. wink
