Hey all,

I just got back into FO3. It's taken me awhile since I'm into exploring every nook and cranny of the wasteland.

In my last session I was wandering through Vault 106 and noticed that the textures looked a little on the blurry side.

Does anyone know where I could get a good overall higher res texture replacement pack? I have a decent system though the processor is getting a little long in the tooth. I'd just like to improve the look of the game a bit, particularly the inside walls.

Thanks,

Deacon

Hi

Check out the files at the Nexus.
There are many texture updates for nearly everything. I'm not sure about inside vaults, but there might be. I know there are nice ones for the wasteland, creatures, water, sky, weapons, armor, etc.

The only thing that is really lacking, at the moment is lots of good quest mods. But, I'm sure they will be coming before too much longer now.

When you see Moriarty, please tell him for me, that he is a dead man!

Yeah Nexus is probably the best site for mods for FO3. I cannot wait this fall for FO3 GOTY edition for the PS3 is coming with all content addons included.

Deacon, mind sharing which is the one you're using?
I'm in the middle of Far Cry 2 atm, and I feel like starting a new game of Fallout 3 after I'm done.

Yea please share. I've been looking for some better textures myself, and some good mods.

Here are a few that I like. I got all of them at the nexus.

Rivet City Maximum Resolutions
Maximum Res Megaton
Pure Water
Wasteland Creatures
HiRezLand
HiRes Weapons
PreWarMoney
Dirty Marlboro Reds

I'm sorry this shot is so small. But you can kinda get an idea of what some of the texture mods do.
And I recommend:
Darnified UI (more pc like hud and fonts)
More From Where That Came from (more oldies songs for GNR)
IPip (your own mp3's in the game)
Drama Radio (very cool old Space Patrol episodes)
Personal Vertibird (a vert you can call on command to sleep in or store items in. It can be used to fast travel in too, I believe. You can not fly it though)

I should go check out the newest stuff. I haven't been there in a while, so there may be even better textures and maybe even some good quest mods out now too.

So far I haven't used anything to alter the gameplay. No super weapons or armor, nothing like that. But if you are into to those kinds of mods, there are a ton of them.

Have fun smile

I'm not sure these are the best, but especially the outdoors textures look much cleaner.

I love wandering the wasteland!

I'll start these texture mods up. Thanks! I did find one weapon mod I couldn't live without. Its the pulse rifle from the movie Aliens, I had to have it, and frankly it fits right in and is a hell of a lot of fun. Not super overpowered either, just a bit above the Chinese Assault Rifle, but more accurate.
