Yeah. I knew this would be possible. I asked the question to get clarification. Looks like it covers the Western Front by default however.

How's this Ogs:

You can see some more screens in these two threads:

http://www.simhq.com/simhq3/sims/boards/bbs/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=145;t=005359;p=1#000000

http://www.simhq.com/simhq3/sims/boards/bbs/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=145;t=005356;p=1#000000

BTW the map covers a specific part of the Western front only. As somebody mentioned, you can't fly that far in a WW1 crate anyway! I know there are third party terrains already being worked on.

Kout, I'll try and take some screenshots of the menu's today.

The stock gameworld centers on the Verdun area and is approximately 250km on a side.

Acknowledged and understood. I've only been simming for 20 years or so.

Again, clarification without the knowledgeable backlash of common sense was my only intention.

Are we talking igneous, sedementary or metamorphic here with regard to hardness?

First off I see a short metaphor for human aureoles is misconstrued as a politically incorrect reference to native Japanese by the forum overlord... LOL!

and yes... metamorphic. :p

I really have to agree. The main title screen should be the one that blows you away. It looks like it was done in MsPaint in 20 min (that's being generous). Hopefully Kout can whip up some good ones.

I give it 4 days after release before we see some new screens.

I give it 4 weeks after release and the stable of flyable a/c will be tripled.

I give it 4 months after release and this thing will have more mods than than SF/WOE/and WOV combined.

Why? When the WWI aviation gurus find out how open this sim is, they're gonna go crazy. I'm a big WWI fan, and I've been lurking on all the WWI forums for awhile now. This is exactly what these guys are looking for. OFF is an excellent mod for CFS3, don't get me wrong. But it's not as open and it's limited with the CFS3 engine...although they've managed to add gun jams!

Anyway, I fully expect to see ALOT of new people for this sim. Gonna be an interesting Winter.

I concur with all of that. \:\)

I'm looking forward to this most certainly. I will admit if I was unfamiliar with the open-endedness of TK's sims, and had come in as an outsider, I might be put off by the apparent lack of flyables. That means it's up to us to educate the masses! \:D

Interesting in every respect. I hope the community is willing to embrace some "new blood" where this sim is concerned. If not I foresee a huge fracture and a lot of bad ju-ju. Of course the usual "birthing problems" every new sim faces can't be avoided, I suppose.

Joke em if they can't take a....

...Actually this is one of the highlights of TKs projects... The platforms are so close in form and function that they actually enhance each other than cause division.

Think of the Thirdwire community as one big disfunctional family! \:D

Out of nominal amounts of interest, what would the RFC/fledgling RAF be doing flying around the Reims/Verdun sector in 1918, given that the British Army's sector was a fair distance to the north?
