That could be it - I always thought it was dangerous, having that guy with the machine gun in front, firing backwards over your head.

Pawgy:
I haven't seen that, and it is very curious. I don't know what the cause is, because the MG should not be operable by any player-controlled key in the sim, it should be AI-controlled only.
Which BE.2 is it, the 2a, 2c or 2d, or all of them? Is it whenever you pull back on the stick, or just sometimes?

Charles.
I just did another test and it happens in each version. When i pull all the way back on the joy stick in normal flight mode it sounds like the machine gun is firing and the plane shakes from the recoil. If I change to hard fight mode I just bearly have to touch the stick and the machine gun sound is heard. In fact in hard flight mode it is sometimes difficult to get it to stop firing.

Guys, I think I know what you're hearing. It's not the MG, it's the "prop stall sound" we use. Go to the Sounds folder and play that file and I'm pretty sure it'll be the same sound.

Hi Gramps.
I like your Handle.
Years ago my grandaughter would get her sylables backwords and GrandPaw came out pawGramp. It eventually turned into pawgy and I have used that handle for the 10years or so that I have been on the Internet.

You have found the culprit. The Stall sound does indeed sound like a machine gun. Thanks I will quit worring about it now.

How do you make the gunner shoot at something?

Thanks for your reply.
I really like the planes.Especially from the
chase (over the sholder) view.

Regards
Pawgy

I edited the original stall sound to be a lower volume as it was really loud and strange sounding. Just locate it in your sounds folder and edit it with one of the free editing programs around.

Thanks for that, Warbirds.
The original prop stall sound was done by me, but I am no sound engineer. It was intended to convey that shuddering sort of feeling you get in a light aircraft when you stall, rather than being a sound per se.
You generally know you are stalling in a light aircrcaft well before the nose or a wing drops, and that was what I was trying to simulate.

Charles: would you email or pm me, please, as I have a suggestion about the sound.

Sorry charles.
It was not meant to be a criticism. I also edited my sound to make it much softer and I still get the feal of the stall when i nose up to quick.
thanks for the tips.

No probs, Pawgy, I'm glad it is now working.
I couldn't work out why the MG was firing when you pulled back on the stick, but the stall sound is the obvious answer.
The Be.2s are quite underpowered, and stalling at any time, especially when taking off, is easy to do. By all means play around with the sound - the sensation of stalling in a small aircraft is much more a "feel" than a "sound" anyway (at least in my experience).

What nonsense!

Personally, I will boycott The Skunk Works.

I have no problem registering or agreeing to user terms but having to go through some gatekeeper (who may or may not let you in depending on his mood) is pathetic.

Wrench, I guess I'll just have to live without your BE2 (with an SE5a cockpit?)or anything else that's on Skunkworks. If you want your work used (at least by me) post it somewhere else.

I recommend others do the same

Just tell them that they can stay at your place in St. Barth and I'll bet they'll change their tune.
