Do I need to have seen the first one?....or is the story fairly easy to pick up?

It's hardly a deep script so I'm sure you'll be ok if you watch the 2nd one without having seen the first one. Also, I'm sure there will be some kind of "recap" of the major events in the 1st movie throughout the dialogue.

I saw this yesterday afternoon - fyi 4pm is the best time to see movies on opening day, the theatre was empty and I had a Wednesday-only coupon for free popcorn and coke with purchase of a ticket.

You've really got to go in with the right frame of mind. Let's be real with it, nobody goes to Transformers expecting Oscar-calibre plot and dialogue; they go to see robots kicking the !@$#@ out of each other. And there is plenty of that.

It was enjoyable and entertaining, but I found it dragged a bit compared to the first. I was checking my watch by the time the final showdown rolled around.

EDIT: And they also go to see Megan Fox in tight pants and low-neck shirts. And let me tell you my friends, there is plenty of that too. Oh yes.

Sadly he does not, but they mention the new administration in this one so I guess he's out of a job. Or they do like in real-life and Voight is the SecDef and maybe return in number 3.

I brought my kids last night to see this, they are 5 & 8 and they loved it. I found it odd they thought it was a little scary. I think it was the new bad bots. Tons of action and I was surprised how much laughter was in the theater? Loved the 2 little protectors!

Meghan was super hot in this, every time I would say Wow about her or the other little hottie my 8yr old would ask does that mean you think she's pretty biggrin

I'll see it again

Well this review just about sums it up....but like the reviewer said...I will go see it this weekend

In the long run, this review will be worth even less than what John Nance Garner called the Vice Presidency of the United States. Transformers fans, salivating for two years awaiting this sequel, will queue up to see it, then leave the theater and get back in line again. The storyline is so infantile that it will appeal to young kids (or at least to those with XY sex chromosomes), although one has to wonder whether the length will be something of an impediment. The target viewer for this movie is not noted for a long attention span. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen will make a ton of money, Michael Bay will be lauded as the greatest director of our generation, and the accountants at Paramount will have their second collective orgasm in as many months. As for me, I will try desperately not to weep - not so much for what the success of a movie like this means to motion pictures but for the simple fact that I'm going to have to do this all over again in two or three years for Transformers 3.

Transformers took in $60 million on wednesday alone. Wow!

I'm not surprised about the razor-thin plot. This definitely feels like the studio just wanted Bay to crank out another money-maker tout de suite.

I saw this on opening day. I thought it was good for what it was, a movie based on toys. Like others have said, it has some plot holes and a couple of "glitches." Like when they go to the Smithsonian, get what they went there for, and leave through the back door....right into an airplane graveyard in the middle of the desert. I was thinking ummmm ok?

I thought there were some funny parts, with the Mom and especially with the "twin" Autobots.

I thought it was a bit too long, 2 hours would have been better IMO. Overall, it was worth seeing but I don't think I'll see it again in theaters. I'll wait for the DVD.

BTW, the "chopper baddie" has a small part in the movie. smile
