So anyone seen that annoying guy that is always spamming the forums with pictures?

Well – I’m back; apologies for my unexplained protracted absence. It has been an interesting year. Without going into details I’ll just say that I missed participating here, but I had extremely important things in my life that I had to deal with and I put 100% of my effort and time into that. To quote a trite saying: life is an interesting journey. Indeed it is. Maybe I’ll put it all in a book sometime.

But – the important news.

WE DID IT!

Yep – Marisa and I finally (after 10+ years) committed to each other forever. We traveled to Maui a few weeks ago and were married on Makena Surf Beach at sunset on June 18th. It was a small, simple ceremony with only a few relatives in attendance. A lot led up to this and I can tell you definitively that I’m the luckiest man on this Earth.

You can read the full Maui Trip Report and view the awesome photos on my website: http://www.mudspike.com/maui.htm

Some thumbnails of the photos you’ll see in the trip report:

The big images are better – check out our site. There are more pictures of Marisa in her bikini (I still know you guys well enough to know you aren’t going to click on any of the pics with me in them..<g>)..

Now that I’m back at SimHQ I intend to return to participating in the forums, writing occasional articles, and generally getting back to the friends I know and love here. For those that sent queries while I was away – I wasn’t ignoring you, I just had a very short and specific list of priorities that I was concentrating on, so don’t take offense that I didn’t get back to you. I appreciate the emails and messages.

Over the past year or so I’ve also continued my relationship with PC Pilot magazine..and I’ve been running articles in there on a range of things from DCS: Black Shark to Flight Simulator and X-Plane add-ons. It’s a fun gig that is challenging (I have problems cramming everything I want to say into a 1500 word limit!) and pays a couple bills each month. Here are the first pages of some of the recent ones I wrote:

Doug should be posting up my first article for the return..one of the “Read It – Do It” articles on the Strike Eagle. I’ll get rolling on more stuff here as time goes on. I still enjoy my simming hobby very much…and thankfully, thus far, the economic rough patch hasn’t affected my flying job..so that is all good too. It’s good to be back.

Catch ya’ll later… One final parting shot.. <g>

Welcome back Beach biggrin

A huge grats on your wedding to both of you. I missed your posts and articles here. A very important question that we need to know. Was Wolfie in attendance at your wedding?

I still feel like one of the new guys here, but I would like to say welcome home anyway.

Great to see you back Chris, and of course great to see Marisa!

Congratulations to you both and best wishes for all that is to come.

Speaking for the Staff here I know we've missed your even hand and your insight.

This is great news Chris, so happy to hear you and Marrisa finally made the commitment. Living together for 10 years, its like you were already married to begin with. Only changes will in name.
Beautiful place to get married.

Regards,
Jim

So glad to see you back. The protracted absence made me fear some bad news in your private life (breakup, job loss or whatever...) so I am thrilled to see it was just the other way round! Everybody has a clear right to leave and come back to an internet forum, no questions asked, real life is the important bit.
