First Please make your post about the problem and not a debate on how I should accept low FPS. Ok know that is over.

I have Really bad suturing and a slide shoe when I get in to combat with aircraft in the Career missions even if
I am not at the line. I was doing a cargo escort mission where you circle around trucks, and the FPS is fine a few jumps
ever 30 sec. but when the Enemy shows and I start turn and banking to fight it is like a slid shoe and I just can not play
the game unless I let the autopilot take over then I win, other wise I lose because of the low Performance.

Know I have updated drivers for Sound, network, video, but still no joy so I went to a different sound card like Jeevz did for
him self and that worked then today same problem with the sound card that I had with the on board sound a Realtek HD thing. one
last thing that I am going to try is USB head set sound card. and see if that works if you have any help please let me know.

EDIT: Specs Gigabyte mother bored with Realtek audio HD sonund card, AMD Athlon 64 Duel core 6000+ 3.10 GHz,
4 gig of ddr2 ram, EVGA nivida 8800 GTS KO OC 640mem, Windows Vista 64 Ultimate. Hope It helps

OK I fond the two main problems to my Performance drop off . First what the settings of RoF . I attached a Pic to see the settings. I found that the Higher Resolution was better with this settings then going lower. I did not know why but the higher resolution was better. Also when I put Landscape to high was a big hit to the frame rate so med was way better low did not make a difference. And the Reflection was a hit also so I put that to off did not see a difference in the looks of the game. Last Anti-aliasing and Bilinear that Anti-aliasing mad no difference but the Filter did so that is why Bilinear. Also Post effects was a hit so that is not on also. Note I did this test After I found the other problem and that was my memory sticks they where high end memory stick by OCZ memory and they where on the compatible list for my mother bored but when I put in the Trident memory I got a medium improvement in the game but as I noted above I still could not go all the way with my settings so It still might be my sound card or my video card which have no problems with games except Crysis.

Without computer specs it is impossible, I have core2 2.4 2 g sdram 667mhz Geforce 7800GTX 512 Meg and I can play multiplayer to a degree with some freezes with high activity but usually around 25-30 FPS with everything turned low or off, but I just have to except that till I get my up grade parts (I have ordered 4 G of Ram at 800Mhz and a Geforce 260GTX 894 Meg) and I am not sure that will solve the problem but because I have an older xps 700 I cannot change the cpu much.

What sort of PC do you have Alanthegrate?

Just guessing, but maybe the bottleneck is the cpu rather then the graphics card. If you can overclock the cpu easily it may be worth trying - I read somewhere that all the bullets and the controlling of the AI slows down the game, and that would be the cpu.

Rof have stated that the game uses quads, and it may be in areas like these a good quad is important.

And/or memory.

Just my 2 cents worth ...

What resolution are you running the game in? And is it the default one for your monitor?

I'll go on a limb here and guess your realtek soundcard is an on boaard version. On board sound cards have been known to cause FPS drops.

If that's the cause of your problems you either have to buy a separate sound card or a USB headset that functions on different drivers. You could borrow such a headset from someone to test if your soundcard is indeed the problem, plug it in and if it works fine then it's the Realtek. Another thing to try is to update the drivers for the realtek.

And finally, read more of the tech support forums, on board soundcards have been a known issue for days now biggrin

yeah, could be something with sound card. You should also check the bit rate your sound card supports, make sure its in synch with that in RoF - mine wasn't. not huge differece, but some in FPS. Also fiddle with hardware acceleration on card. Again maybe not a biggie.

Have you disabled PhysX on video card? A tip from WWBian, should increase framerates a bit again, and not needed in RoF.

Also, re cpu versus gpu, run the game on lower resolution as a test to see where bottlenecks are, even 1024x768 if possible. If it goes lots better its the graphics card more n' likely, if its the same its something else, quite possibly the cpu or sound card.

Thanks intramile I will try that. Ans Blackdog_kt thanks for the info I have tryed a other sound card same thing. But have not tryed the USB Head set. Plus no problems with FSX of any other flight sim or FPS so far, with my onborad sound chip. How do I shut off the PhysX i did not know I could do that.
