What the? No HDTV is worth that much. There is an HDTV that can display 3D without glasses needed for less than that.

I am using a Toshiba 37" Full HD LCD wih 100Hz motion and it's a real beauty. I just upgraded from a 19" TFT a couple of months ago. 37" is just perfect while sitting about 2 arm lengths away from it. It's not pain for our eyes to use such an LCD for everyday usage like surfin', gamin or whatever. In many flightsims, the instruments appear as if they were in 1:1 scale. Just awesome.

Like I said earlier, this is a professional 10 bit studio monitor for the film industry. They'd use it to colour proof digital cinema in 4K resolution, ie 4x Full HD.

HannsG blows, at least for LCD monitors. I returned mine b/c it was pixely as hell. VF-2- what's the resolution on that Toshiba LCD?

My 24" seems ordinary to me after a couple years of use. However, I'm in no hurry to replace as I probably cannot improve on the image quality.

Looking at 30" at the store, it borders on being too big. But, I would get used to it. I seriously wonder if that isn't close to maximum, though (at my desktop viewing distances).

If I do switch to a "big" LCD, I know I can't take the low picture quality and limited view angles of the 6 bit ones. They would not work well in a "big" screen because the contrast would change merely looking left to right at desktop distances (I can already see that in the 24" LCD HDTV/monitor we own). I desire excellent color and wide view angles (needed to maintain the color fidelity as one looks around the screen) at a "reasonable" (not cheap) price.

I would just buy a good quality 26" (maybe 30") 1080P HDTV and be done with it.

Peppergomez, the native resolution is 1920x1080x32 (1080p HDTV). That's the resolution i play with.
