I've been thinking about starting a sort of blog, but I would like to know beforehand if anyone here would bother reading it and keeping up-to-date with it. Anyone?

The subject wouldn't be so much about me, but my thoughts on computers, technology and military.

is there any reason we should? who are you?
what will be on your blog? i mean, there are a billion people online talking about computers and technology.. why should we read yours? is there gonna be something special or unique about it?

if not, definitely not.

if however you have some kind of access to unique military information, or high quality videos or photos that are not easily available elsewhere, or otherwise have something very interesting or unique about your blog, that would probably get people interested..!

speculation aside. Try posting a supposed entry in your blog here, since it will be your thoughts about computers, technology and military, I don't think it will be out of place at SimHQ forums (i.e. technology area, maybe CE, or here).

View number, and the indigenous savage reaction , will give you an idea.

I hate blogs and never read them. My life is boring enough without having to read about someone else's boring life.

I really have no interest in reading blogs of any kind unless its someone well known who is talking about something I'm really interested in. For example, I've read many of the blogs by Ron Moore and David Eick about the making of BSG.

I don't usually read blogs. I would if I found someone who I thought has some interesting things to say and differing viewpoints than myself. People who think the same way I do, are boring. Why read what I am already thinking?

To answer your question, it all depends on what you write about.

Awesome! I didn't know Despair.com had one for blogging as well. I remember getting a kick out of those when I was doing my undergrad and the interwebs were still relatively new(ish).

Still, feel free to blog, flyboy; just try not to have any expectations of having a high readership. Opinions are pretty abundant these days.

I'd say you'd probably find about 6 billion opinions for any selected topic.

If it's a "my life" type blog no, or your thoughts on computers and technology but there are some good blogs around, out of 8 game review blog is really famous, and I followed a couple of Luftwaffe blogs for a while by a couple of guys from the Czech republic who had a lot of obscure photo's etc and interesting unusual info etc. If you offer something different and obscure you might get a following, other than that it's a whole universe of unread blogs out there already.
