Just out of curiocity. On your graphics tab of your ROF Settings app...what does it read for Video Memory Usage: ??%

I believe he said 40%, above.

Thanks for all the input, guys!

Regarding TrackIR, I haven't even fired it up yet! I own it but that was going to be the last thing I messed with, once everything else was squared away.

Yes, video memory usage is 40%.

Ming, thanks for all those suggestions. I'll try that and then commence testing. This will be done throughout the week, as I have work to finish. I'll report back here what I find, either way.

Heya Jim,

Sorry, missed the 40% on the first page...been a looong day wink

I've only seen this issue on a squadmate's ATI 1900 card. Like tamper, I suspected heat at first, but your CPUID shows nominal temps at 74C...(try checking CPUID by alt-tabbing out while playing and not just after a game. There will be a significant difference I think.)

...unfortunatly...that leads me to suspect bad v-memory.

But before I am convinced of that, A few things I would do if it were me:

...I'd turn everything down to its lowest settings and get the lowest memory usage number I could,(why I asked about it in the first place) and fly a take-off mission and try and keep the load light as I could...and note any difference.

ROF taxes the video pretty hard...

...a complete shot in the dark, but something that helped my own GFX 285 OCX card, was I went into nvidia's control manager and disabled PhysX, since ROF doesn't use it. My card runs alot cooler, although Ming says it didn't make much difference on his. But like a said, a shot in the dark.

Hope this helps,

Salute!

As a beta tester I have experienced similar graphic anomalies.I am using a Gigabyte GTX 295 1792Mb GDDR3 with 185.85 GeForce drivers.

The last time I had issues with it I noticed that by dropping the textures from High to Medium lowered the memory usage from 73% down to 40%, and that solved the problem.

My advice is to echo the Mingster, and get the latest graphic driver, remove the old driver, use a driver cleaner, then install the latest driver. Then lower all your settings then start testing and find the sweet spot.
