Just submitted my entry for a double regional...IT (Improved Touring) special race weekend that coincides with a weekend of National events at Gingerman Raceway in Michigan. We'll be last on the bill both Saturday and Sunday, the 11th and 12th of July.

Both Neons are heading to the alignment shop this Friday and that should be the last thing either car needs to go racing...other than tech inspection for the year and we can get those done at the track if we want.

I'm looking forward to the new suspension. The struts were pretty much toast after last year's excursions off track, into tires (not by me), and my roll. wink

My buddy bought new coil overs for his blue Neon and we put the year old coil overs from the blue one into the green one...so they're like new. I haven't driven the Neon since March when I drove it to town to a carwash to get the bird droppings and dust off of her. With the new suspension I've only driven from my barn to my garage so I'm hoping it will be sweet!

I won't know what to do without the back end trying to come around from bouncing. biggrin

11th and 12th July? For Pete's sake, I can't catch a break for losing. I just spent 5 days in Waterloo at the hands of my in-laws. One week either way, and it wouldn't have been the bored-fest I endured. Only the fact that the NS (Norfolk Southern) railroad "Chicago main" runs approx. 450ft in front of the house kept me from going utterly bat-pucky. One week earlier, the Rolex race at Mid-Ohio. One week later, your venue in Michigan.

You're in the country, WK! Take the beastie for a warmup around a county road grid. Heck, from some of the pickups I saw up there in Maumee, the "Snot Rocket" looks like a factory-prepped LeMans entry even with the bird ornamentation. biggrin

Bored in Waterloo??? Say it ain't so! wink Man, you should have dropped me a reminder, we could have hooked up and done something. Heck, as near as Auburn is the Victory Museum that features a very large collection of WWII vehicles and weapons. Also there is the Auburn/Chord/Dusenburg auto museum. Bummer.

Sorry, just dragged in from wherever I've been lately...

Auburn and the Cord/Deusie museum, check. Neat stuff downstairs in the Freightliner display, a 200 mph eighteen-wheeler and some other trucks I wouldn't have towed out of the driveway if they double-parked. biggrin

Victory Museum, ugh. Nephew is a WW2 fanatic, he was highly upset at what they've done to that place over the last six months.

Shipshawana and the Big-@$$3d Flea Market? More like "Chinese cargo freighter upended on beach, scavenged for fun and profit..." Pass.

Be that as it may: RESULTS, Man! The 12th has passed, what happened? mycomputer

Thanks for the heads up on Shipshawana! I've never been there but the wife had mentioned wanting to check it out. I get enough of the crap they sell at the giant swap meets at the colesium in Ft Wayne. Garbage!

Still waiting for pics for Gingerman. Had fun racing Chad (the other Neon in the livery)...but we were so far outclassed and uncompetitive to everyone else it wasn't funny. I may be winding down my racing hobby. Heck of a lot cheaper to race Chad with go karts and have the same fun.

Short version...Gingerman is a really fun course, Chad and I raced door to door for a lot of it, we both finished near the back both days. sigh
