How can I change how far back my pilot is from the windscreen. I would like it to be a bit further back so I can see the instruments a little better. I tried changing the Cockpit Camera FOV in the settings but it didn't seem to have an effect. Am I missing something?

If your flight stick supports the buttons, default is buttons 5 & 6 for zoom in/out. Or just use the scroll wheel on your mouse...

I can zoom in and out fine.
But it keeps resetting over and over again to about the middle position.

And I'm getting this weird tilt thing.

I haven't seen a tilt like you describe. Are you using TrackIR?

While we are talking about TrackIR...

I am using TrackIR 4. For some reason, in the second training mission it keeps acting like it isn't turned on anymore. I no problems with it in the first training mission.

That looks like a non-centered TIR view to me also. There are no "tilt head left" view commands that I'm aware of.

One thing to check if using TIR *and* you have Force Feedback turned on ... turn off the force feedback from the "Settings" - "Force feedback" tab. There are a few posts around here about an issue with TIR and FFB in game.

Ya I have TIR. I'll do as you recommend Sandman.

But I have an old TIR with no tilt.

Anyone got any suggestions about the zoom resetting itself?

*snipped out my reduntant already known information*

Try updating your software maybe from within TrackIR (update-> check for game update on the file menu). Make sure you have the Rise of Flight listed in available games.

[EDIT] - Ah I see...you have old TiR w no 6DOF. duh ...well...the software update still might be a good idea

I was getting this as well(only to the left) along with a huge rudder deflection. At first I thought it might be a spike from the pedals, but it seems it is due to TIR loosing it's signal...

Zoom resets it self it the unit looses tracking. bump up your curve so you do not turn your head as far.

It's something I hadn't seen before I'd recommend posting this up on the bugs form @ rof.com

S!

Yeah the zoom resetting is annoying. I wish you could just set a default zoom and it would simply reset itself to that if it loses tracking. I guess I can live with it zoomed in until they get a patch for it.
