This new series is modeled after the WTCC Series. It will be based on GTR2 cars and tracks. It will run on Sundays when there are not F1 races. Being a peer FIA event to the F1s, it seemed a natural solution. There will be two 1/2 hour races and a combined 30 minute practice /qualifying session. You should be able to get in and out in ~90 minutes, so you can get back to the kids soccer practice or the honey-do list.
Schedule
1:00 - 1:30 PM Combined practice and qualifying 1:30 - 2:00 PM Race 1 (30 minutes) 2:00 - 2:30 PM Race 2 (30 minutes) 2:30 - beer and bench racing (or back to the honey-do list)
Server
SimHQ Motorsports 2 (running GTR2 version 1.1) is up and running for testing. NEW PASSWORD: motorSportz
Tracks
June 28 - Valencia (included in GTR2) July 5 - Brno (included in GTR2) July 19 - Brands Hatch September 6 - Oschersleben (included in GTR2) September 20 - Imola (included in GTR2) November 8 - Anderstorp (included in GTR2) November 15 - TiAida Okayama November 22 - Macau
Combined practice/qualifying at 1PM to 1:30PM Race Length: 2 x 30 minutes Mechanical damage: Normal Damage Multiplier: 75% Flags: Black + No Penalty Blue Fuel: Normal Start: Standing all races. Restarts: 1 (any driver can call for the restart, but it must be called before the leader completes turn 3 on any track) Driving Aids: Clutch + Shift No car switching: Start with a car, stay with the car for all 8 races Setups: Open Drivers View: Open Virtual Mirrors Available Parc Ferme not in effect Car selection: No duplication of cars
Qualification
We will add a second, short, qualification session and drop the warm-up session. With another qualifying session set to 5 minutes, drivers who disconnected in the first qualifying session would be able to rejoin and we wouldn´t need to restart the race. All drivers will need to stay in the pits for the second quali session and not enter the track. If there are no drivers needing to rejoin, the server will be advanced from the second qualifying session to the race. Any driver who drops connection and needs to rejoin will need to start from the back of the grid. The qualify sessions before the first race will count for the grid position in both races.

Scoring
There will be an overall champion with prizes for the championship podium 1, 2, 3 places. Awards TBA.
Each driver must throw out one of their results during the eight race series.

Bringing the Race WTCC cars into GTR2...
To me, it was night and day between this mod and a normal GTR2 car. If you wonder what Race07/Evo is like, try "WTCC Mod v2.0" offline.
I'm not sure how many people here have Race07/Evo, but I'd guess it's a lot less than have GTR2. I could be wrong, but it's probably safe to rule out any chance for a Race07/Evo series.
The WTCC cars would be my favourite choice for a series like that and as I own Race07/Evo, it would be no problem for me if we switch to those sims.
There are other mods for GTR2 like the P&G mod or the new ALMS mod, which I would prefer over the Civic or BMW E90 mod, but they wouldn´t fit as well into the 90 min event format with 2 short races.
But whatever the majority wants to run here, I think it would be the best to postpone the official series start for one week and make tomorrow a test session instead.

That Skoda Octavia Cup mod's been out there for a while in different versions, but I've never tried it.
The WTCC BMW E90 mod for rFactor could be another option, sticking with the WTCC theme. http://rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=WTCC%20BMW%20E90 Finding WTCC tracks for rFactor might be a problem, and some people may have been waiting for a GTR2 series.
I'd like to keep this series based on a SimBin product. Going to download the Civic series and see how it is. The WTCC bimmers would be my second choice right now.
I'd like to do a race tomorrow and we can make it a test race or allow one race points to be tossed out which would cover anyone who cannot join in because of the delay.
We will have one mod to download -- that is legit -- within an hour or two.
Anyone tried the HistorX mod for rfactor? its probably my favorite mod of all well its not just a mod its part conversion from GT legends and you need a GTL disc to install it but it is great fun and very challenging.

Race07/Evo WTCC would be my first choice, but that might exclude a number of non-Evo people.
In GTR2, I guess if it comes down to a choice between the BMW E90 WTCC mod, and the FM Civic Cup mod, I'd pick the BMW, and keep the WTCC theme alive. There was a good WTCC track list ready to go. I haven't seen any shopping mall parking lot tracks yet for the Civic. ... just kidding?

Hi guys and thanks for all the work in putting this together. I am also pretty open to anything that is decided as I really like trying new cars, tracks etc.
I also saw the Civic mod but have not tried it yet and I think you can never go wrong with a solid mod containing BMW's.
Papa_K, we have been running the Skoda mod in the Ironman league over at speedracin.net and it has been a big success, bringing very close racing where momentum is everything. We are down to our last few races and are in the process of deciding a new mod to run ourselves.
I have GTR2, GTL, Race07/GTREvo and rFactor and have enjoyed some great racing in all of them.
Stateside the GTRevo full boxed version which includes all Race07 content can be had for $20.00 so look around before you spend more than that. If you do get the boxed version just use the code to download the latest version on Steam vs. installing from the disc as there is a pretty good chance Steam will download the entire game again anyway.
Looking forward to what ever is decided and will see you on track.
We have a winner. There are several very good suggestions but the key is once we tried the WTCC cars it was tough to dismiss. Papa_K has come through again and found skins for more GTR2 BMW E90 cars, so the perfectly legit custom download link is ready:
SimHQ Motorsports 5 (GTR2 servers) is up and running for practice.
We will have a race Sunday as much for testing as anything. To compensate for the late release of the carset, each driver will be able to throw out one result in the eight race series. For those who can make it, you may have a better shot at running in the points if just a few show up.
So barring any more car follies, it should be racing as usual @ 1 PM eastern time on Sunday.
A reminder. Unlike rFactor, GTR2 closes the door after Practice. You can't get in during qualifying or warmup so get there OR tell us on TeamSpeak to leave the door open for you. I'd hate to see anyone get closed out after all this.
BTW, AMKs suggestion of the 2008 Supercar Porsches... that is an excellent mod and you guys should try it. PK and I were just wanting that WTCC dicing.
***swears a lot*** Just been up to download the mod and do a little practice, and the game machine is dead. Turned off properly yesterday, no response to the power button this morning.
I'm out all the rest of the day geocaching so unless I get a quick solution later I'll be out of this one. Was really looking forward to it as well.

I haven't used GTR2 in a long time. First race, I found new and interesting ways to screw up. A double-tap downshift in the final turn is just what's needed for a spin, and messing with an uncooperative HUD display is a good path to the beach. And... the best... Not having enough fuel puts a cherry on top.
Getting all that out my system, the second race went fine. A good start by David K dropped me to third. It stayed that way until DBR9 decided to make it interesting by giving up the lead, and he dropped from first to third. When he got back up to speed, it was no use trying to hold him back -- and I wanted to turn him loose on David in the lead, to see if they'd do something silly together. That was a good win for David.
I must remember in future races when there's a restart and i lose my qualifying possition to end up at the back not to say "shall we just race" I soon realised in these cars there is no catching up and was gutted to find the qual positions from the first race stood for the second race.
In both races i was quite aggressive in the first few laps trying not to stay at the back, in the first race i rear ended Ben, then in the second i side swiped Kev causing him to spin, sorry to both i was a bit rusty i havn't raced for about 6 weeks. Oh and i made a very ambitious pass on Col scraping his car hope it didn't cause any lasting paint damage. btw that was me driving behind you Col in the smoke i was surprised how long your engine seemed to last.
I enjoyed racing again and look forward to the next one.

Hi Haphazard,
Do you have your GTR2 set to "Simulation" mode? Unlike GTL where you see all of the servers, in GTR2 you will only see the servers that match your setting (Novice, Semi-Pro and Simulation).
On your main screen click the "Realism" tab on the bottom and on that screen at the top you will see "Difficulty" with left and right arrows. Click the arrows to choose simulation and you should then see the server when you join the lobby.

Was happy with my pace yesterday, qualified half a second faster than PK, however that advantage was eroded to 7 tenths in race 2, and I should have won both of them but unfortunately concentration involving my ipod was to blame, well done David.

Well I had a bit of a shocker. I didn't like the track and I hadn't managed to get anywhere near enough practise time with the cars. Slow + inconsistent = no enjoyment. So I thought I'd bury it in the wall and left. The teething troubles that delayed the start also put me back a bit being chef for my better half so I thought it best to call it a night. Hopefully I'll get some practise in during the week so I'm ready for next weekend.
Good to see a double figure turnout though. Let's hope for even more next time.
Yes, the time needs to go off as planned. I think that was a teething problem with people getting reacquainted with GTR2. I'll strive to hit the mark next Sunday.
It says incompatible versions when I try to join the server. I have it set to Sim, and also have the mod installed? I only got the game today though so im pretty clueless? Oh yeah whats the password?
Am I doing something wrong here? I have prepared for JSGME the following folder structure: C:\Program Files\GTR2\MODS\CAR - WTCC BMW E90\GameData\Teams\WTCC\BMW E90 Teams\...
I use JSGME to install the whole deal, but I don't see that WTCC cars available in-game; just the stock FIA GT cars.
My cable modem is having some major issues with dropped packets. I have a service appointment sometime between 2 and 5pm tomorrow. I will try to attend this race meeting but I mnay not be able to connect, if I do I may disco, and if I do manage to start I might have to bow out. Just a heads up.
Whew! Another terrific track and good racing with this fun mod, but GTR2 was showing a stubborn streak again today. In spite of all good intentions and efforts, racing finished 30 minutes over the time allocated for the event. To those who couldn't stay, my apologies and we will try again on the 19th at Brand Hatch.
The utility was not loaded today because I thought it would add an additional layer of software that couldn't help GTR2 behave any better. But maybe we should try it and see if it helps things along. The utility has some issues of it's own, but lets see if those can be offset by it's benefits.
Two requests.
We still have a few drivers not monitoring on Teamspeak. Please activate it for monitoring the race. You do not need to speak, just monitor it.
Unless someone knows some trickery, there is no way that I'm aware of to add players once the event turns from practice to qualification. If there is, please let us know! So anyone arriving past 15 minutes after the hour is out of luck. Today there were at least two drivers bounced out (including me, the cheater ) so that still left us with a screwed-up qualifying session.
Thanks to everyone for showing-up today (14 drivers in total) and we hope to see you at Brands Hatch on 19 July.

I will have to look into the dedi server settings that we run but we have always been able to join during qualification over at ADC and other places I race, it is warm-up that is a closed session.
The first race was very intense, Frank got a bit ahead of us but Ahmad, Dan and myself were battling it out tooth and nail (or bumper and door handles) and I had a great time. Sorry for your freeze Ahmad otherwise it would have been a 3 way battle for P2 at the end.
2nd race Dan and I got a great start, helped by the fact that pole position cannot see the start lights in these cars (try starting with the hood cam next time and then switch back to cockpit). But Dan got a gap on me that I could not get back to so P1-P3 were about 4-5 secs apart for most of the race.
Congrats to Frank for the win in R1 and to Dan for the win in R2. I am very happy to get a P3 and P2 for Brno and look forward to the next event.

Race 1: Got a good start and retained the lead for a number of laps but I was a little off the pace so Nimrud and eventually DBR and Kennard were able to catch and pass me. I was just managing to hold onto the back of Kennard before GTR decided to freeze for about 30 seconds before coming back. I heard a big crash and the front of my car was gone. Sorry to PK who apparently had to avoid me but at least I woke him up early!
Race 2: This one was more exciting as I was dueling with PK for the first half of the race with LC about a second or two behind me. I was quicker than PK through the infield and would close up but my line out of the last corner was not so good and he would pull away again. It was a fun battle until LC decided to suddenly find another gear and he was all over me. I was defending against LC which was slowing both of us down and letting PK drive away.
Eventually LC got past but then I tapped him, sorry, still getting used to this GTR online business, didn't look like we touched. I let him back by and we resumed the battle. He then made a mistake and I was able to repass him but again he was too fast on the straight and passed me again. I was now 5th and trying to hang onto him when I saw him slow down after the finish line with one lap still remaining. I knew that he thought the race was over and flew by him. He quickly noticed his mistake and tried desperately to gain the position back. On the 2nd last corner of the race I squeezed him to the inside but he outbroke himself and went wide, I cut back on the inside and was able to beat him to the line for fourth place.
Well guys, this was my first online race, as I'm new to racing in general, but had fun even though I solidly held down the last position in the first race. Maybe I'm missing something here, but I can't quite figure out what all of you guys are in such a hurry for?
I apologize to anyone I may have caused problems for as I periodically slid right off the track. Are 'car resets' back onto the track allowed here? I never tried it, but it would have been helpful.
I also learned a lesson today - do NOT bind the "control" key to Teamspeak's PTT, as it often confuses your machine by being held 'stuck' and thus disabled my keyboard right before race 2 - thus I couldn't type in the server password, so couldn't get back in. Ah well, lesson learned.
Hehe, too funny GregP, we've all been there before. It's a learn as you go proposition. If you get a chance to jump online on the practice server before the race, that helps.
Speaking of making funny mistakes, I tried to jump in today at the very last minute, and was still getting the add on installed when the time for the race to start came up-bad way to start. I had reinstalled GTR2 as well.
All was good but my shifter started messing up and I got a bounce to desktop after the windows 'sticky keys' message tried to ask me a question. I just jumped out of the race.
I'd started having a problem with my Momo shifter automatically jumping up or down one gear last 'season,' and I thought that was what was happening again. Come to find out that I had autoshifting enabled and it was trying to autoshift while I was shifting normally. Kind of hard to drive like that.
Anyway, I ran a few more laps offline and boy, those bimmers are a lot of fun to drive.
Maybe I can catch the next race, now that I've got the bugs out...
Unfortunately there's another big computer change happening next week so I'll be uninstalling and reinstalling for a bit. We'll see how that goes. Until next time.
Last night I watched an episode of The Grid I had recorded on SPEED. They showed highlights from WTCC at Brno. Man, what a mess - at the start of the first race one of the BMWs was on the right side of the track and inexplicably moved left under braking, driving directly into, directly taking out 2 other cars, and causing all sorts of other problems. The ensuing mess caused a safety car that lasted for three laps. Smooth move.
These commentators were rather calm about the whole thing at first. The more times the replay was shown, the more incredulous they became.
Nimrud has made some excellent suggestions to help alleviate the connection problems encountered at Brno.
If you have multiple carsets loaded and had connection problems, try installing v1.1 clean and only the BMW mod.
Make sure your GTR2 connection is set for ISDN in Multiplayer's monitor window (RaceData).
Please connect at least once before Brands Hatch to ensure your connection is working okay.
Starting at Brands Hatch, I will implement the server utility GTR2 Manager, and that will give us some sorting control of the grid. However, the less messing with that the better.
As mentioned earlier, please make sure you are monitoring Teamspeak.

Hi Doug,
I guess I thought I might see something but there are no check boxes etc to choose when drivers can join the events. I have always been able to join events during qualifying and even just now I popped into the GTR2 lobby and joined a few races during the Q session just to double check and got in fine. Hope someone else can help figure this out before the next race.
Thanks for the work and see you at Brands, David K
David and Frank... please reconfirm it is absolutely GTR2 you guys run at ADC that allows entry in quali... or did I misunderstand?
There is no multiplayer.ini file inside GTR2, but there is a dedicatedserver.ini file instead. I checked through every line in it, and the server profile .PLR file and no joy on the line I need. There is the one line that refers to closed qualifying but it is marked with "0". After doing the Google thing, I found this:
That thread refers to Race07. I figured, NP! I'll just add the entry "ClosedQualification=0". Nope! GTR2 didn't recognize it. I tried other open/closed additions and resaves to the dedicatedserver.ini but each time it would kick the line back out. The server would run, not allow entry in Quali, then when I checked the line was gone.
Doug, I had a quick conversation with our server admin for GTR2, Steve Walsh over at the ADC about the problem and that is what he told me:
Quote:
0 should be the correct setting, from ADC .plr "Closed MP Qualify Sessions="0" // if true, the session will be closed during qualify, so as to not disturb the participants"
There is nothing in the DedicatedServer.ini file for closed quali.
1 thing is to make sure you have a driver profile starting with the letter "a" as some issues can be caused with the Dedi server only reading the first driver .plr file so if you have multiple drivers in the settings folder you might be changing the wrong .plr file.
The only other thing I can think of is are you trying to run Q1 or Q2, I think Q1 is sometimes closed no matter what you set but not 100% on that.
Let me know how you get on.
Steve
Maybe there is a problem with Q1 sometimes, though I can´t remember that when I used to setup a dedicated box for a small group of GTR2 drivers over at Frugal´s.

2 major problems. #1 Whatever I try I cant get into the SimHQ server, keep getting booted as possible cheat. #2 Offline, I can't get away from the pit box because of uneven terrain, i've reinstalled the track numerous times.
Your first problem I don´t have a clue other than try to redownload the track. As for issue two, have you tried another car `cause I have had no such problem, it might just be your pitstall. I´m sure that if that´s the problem, that noone would object to you changing car.

Dan, try going clear back out then back into the server. I just tried it and got in okay (this time). Never have seen anything that's a pattern with the "boot as a possible cheat" error.
Thanks to everyone who was able to make it Sunday. It was once again some outstanding racing that took 1:40 minutes total time, and would have been even more fun with more drivers. Brands Hatch was "strike 1" on the series being less than 10 drivers qualifying. Two more and the series is cancelled.
Sorry guys, was out of town and couldn't lug my whole setup with me. Also I figured I'd give somebody else the chance to come in last. Will definitely make the August 2 race though.

I had a great time in both races yesterday and look forward to the next event. Those that have signed up please try and make the upcoming events as these cars are a blast to drive and 10+ on track keeps the series alive.
I got a terrible start in Race One as I forgot if we were doing a pace lap or not, I had a a full weekend of racing with formation laps so got used to that. Then on the downhill section another car got bumped off track in front of me and I also went into the gravel to avoid hitting them. Once I got rolling Frank and Dan were already pulling away from the rest of us and I settled in to make up ground. Once I got the rhythm of the track down I started chipping away at Matthias but as soon as I got to within a few seconds I would have a issue that would drop me back again. We got close at the end but neither of us had anything for Dan and Frank ahead and I finished 4th behind Matthias.
For race two I had no one in the grid spots in front of my car and was able to get to 2nd place right off the start. I could see that Matthias and Ben were not far behind but I thought I could settle in and keep a margin if I had no offs. Well best laid plans and all at some point towards the end (after some great racing throughout) I went off track on the first corner downhill section and Matthias and Ben both got by. Knowing the time was coming to an end (the first race ended early) I knew that the race could end at any time and did my best to get spots back. Matthias lead Ben and myself through traffic bumper to bumper and it was awesome to go around the track locked together and I ended up taking 4th behind Matthias in 2nd and Ben in 3rd (check the timing difference! at the end).
I would love to have joined the series but the start time is just not doable for me.
I keep hoping to see a SimHQ scored series show up later in the afternoon or weekday evenings but I know that's not too friendly time wise for our Euro friends
Yup, I've been showing up to those lately when I get the chance, but I would still love to see a GTR2 based point series.
NAGP has a pretty sweet format using a carpack created by Chris Moses that I have been using in for my SP championship. It's a fine tune of all the stock cars to make them more comparable while retaining each models strength and weakness. Couple this with x2 fuel/tire wear and timescaled mechanical failures it brings some of the best close racing I've experienced 1 hour endurance racing I've had in GTR2.
As of right now the TCC race starting at 1 PM eastern time on Sunday is still scheduled as planned. I would hope the current network problem with the TeamSpeak and game server would be resolved by then, but check in here for more news and status. Sorry for the inconvenience.
June 28 - Valencia (included in GTR2) July 5 - Brno (included in GTR2) July 19 - Brands Hatch August 9 - Oschersleben (included in GTR2) August 16 - Imola (included in GTR2) September 6 - Anderstorp (included in GTR2) September 20 - TiAida Okayama October 11 - Macau
Hoping all will be back in order for next weekend. [fingers crossed]
Well, that's good news for me, as I was again out of town this weekend and was bummed that I'd missed the race and probably been disqualified for the rest of the season.
Looking forward to next weekend's race, hopefully!
guod, unfortunately I'm going to be unable to make the next two weekends (10-day trip to Sweden, Denmark, and Norway) - what's the new schedule going to be? Everything just pushed back by two weeks, so we'll be trying Oschersleben on Aug. 23?
Soon as we get the server 100% back online I'll post the updated schedule, but we will pick up the next track and run the complete series. It's too much fun tossing those bimmers around in GTR2 to lose the series. As Ahmad says, it'll still be run Sundays on non-F1 weekends.
We will continue this series in GTR2 Sunday if I can get GTR2 to work through the gameserver firewall. Spent hours today trying to make it work and no luck yet. Hopefully Chipwich can work his magic and get it going.
If not, we'll have an inpromptu event using the new ILMS_2.77 running at Orchard Lake.
Nope - I mixed something up and then realised I already have the game Mirrors work now as well, as the interface is different I had not activated these before.
Edit: For the record, I try to join as often as possible to support this series from now on. But please regard me only as a substitute driver.
If I race two evenings per weekend on a constant basis (fun series plus F1 or TCC) I'm going to face a *cough* domestic problem.
So, my priorities are: F1, fun series and TCC in that order.
My personal preference simply is the fun series and F1. But if saturdays don't work out due to other duties, I think my girl and me can agree on racing sundays (hopefully) more regularly. And that includes the TCC then.
Took too much curb at the chicane which threw me off the track and into the barriers. Quite a bit of damage done and I also missed the entrance of the pits so I had to do another slow lap around before pitting for about 1 minute or so. Fought my way back up to 7th for a couple of points.
Race 2:
This race was faster than Race 1 and my pace was very good with 1:31's every lap but Dan was even quicker pulling away by a few months a lap. At about lap 9 or 10 my Soft tyres gave up and my laptimes dropped 1-1.5 seconds per lap which was frustrating, needed Medium tyres. Brought it home in 2nd for a good result.
Well done to Dan for winning both races, great pace.
A note about the series. Like the F1 Series it now has 2 strikes against it. One more and the series will be canceled. That is really a shame considering how many people asked for a GTR2 series, and the exceptional quality of this mod.
Do you guys run any pratice races? Im looking into joining a league and think it would be good to run with others. I cant take any more pub races as everyone acts like an ...
Hi snipcod. We don't have practice races but look for SimHQ Motorsports 2 in the online GTR listings under simulation mode. Practice for next weeks TCC Imola race runs all week. And you're welcome to run it!

Oh no, I just now made it home and missed the event. This was a last minute thing I had to do and I was already out when it came up and could not get to a computer to post. I hope we had a nice turnout but if not please, please count me as a driver today.

I guess we may have had server issues again, I will see everyone at the next race. Off to MicroCenter to scout some microphones or a headset, enjoy the rest of the weekend.

I hope the 24hr racers will be up for this one, I plan on being here but if I am not you will know I have fallen asleep after a long day (and night) at Le Mans.

Well I ended up sleeping through the finish of the 24 L2R race, DOH!, sleeping right through my 6:30am wake up alarm to be up for the final stints. I know you guys must be exhausted after a long day of racing also so I will see you on track at the next event. Congrats again on a great result in the 24.
Oh ok, sorry guys will have to miss this one with the est/edt times switching making it an hour later for me. It's not usually a problem but I have to be up in a 6 hours today (so unusual!). Have fun.
Just to clarify for those who are wondering what's going on, especially in light of the time change here in the US last night - as far as we can tell, given that it's about 1 PM here on the East Coast of the US, we believe the server should be up by now ... guod oversleeping again perhaps?
Do I dislike Simbin's multiplayer? Let me count the ways.... argh.
The server has been running all week, and LC ran on it yesterday NP. I checked it last night before bed. But of course the day of the race and when I try and sneak in after practice, it's not showing-up.
Anderstorp is postponed (again!) until next Sunday, November 8th. The two other races will be pushed back to the 15th and 22nd.
Please connect to the server during the week and prior to the race time next Sunday to confirm you can connect. If not, please PM me and I'll battle with it again.
I just tried to log on and I got That same error. Oddly enough, it seemed to load a number of other drivers before I got the error message. Not any names that I could recognize though. I was on last night, no problems at all.
I just restarted it again. I have no idea why this is acting up since once again it has been running all week long, and I logged in multiple times through the week to check it. Post back in here if you still cannot get in.
I was having a nice battle with Dave in the second race until I decided to hit the barrier on left side at the end of the first turn... at a jabillion miles per hour.

Great racing and fun once again, it was good to get back in these cars.
Chris that was a bad accident for sure, glad it was in the sim world. When you look at where that guardrail is it makes you wonder why it is in a position where you can easily spear it with an off there.
Looking at the points I am disappointed that I missed the Imola race, especially since that is one of my favorite tracks, since it has gotten close at the top especially with Dan missing a few races himself.
Hopefully everyone can make the final events and I look forward to any new drivers that are able to join us on track.

It was something to do with extraction, when I extracted straight out of the rar it worked, but if i extracted it somewhere else then copied it, it didn't work :S
Sorry guys, I won't be able to make it to today's race. I've got a mild bout of carpal tunnel syndrome I need to recover from before I start sawing at the wheel again.

Guys, I am so sorry to have missed the race today. I got caught up with an unexpected errand and was unable to get somewhere to post what was happening, I also missed a big league race over at GC today that I run as a team mate with my brother so Sunday was a total loss sim wise, arrgh. It looks like from today's results that it will come down to the final event for the title.
Sorry again and hope to see everyone next week at Macau, we are running the Porsche RS at Macau this Thursday at The ADC so I hope to get the track down before Sunday.
Thanks David K.
I hope you are able to get back on track soon Chris, get better.

Hi JD,
GTR Evolution (GTR EVO) is a separate and different game than GTR2, you would need GTR2 to run this current series. It is a game worth getting but try and look for the 'Game of the Year" edition which includes the GTL sim as a bonus.
GTR EVO is part of a series that started with RACE: The WTCC Game. RACE 07 was the next in line and included all RACE:WTCC content.
Then came the STCC expansion pack for Race07 which added the Swedish touring series plus a Camaro Cup.
GTR Evolution came out as an expansion pack if you already had the Race07 or as a full version which included RACE, Race07 and new content.
Now the latest edition is RaceOn which includes RACE, Race07 and STCC plus new content (but not GTR Evo content).
