I only have 1280X1024 listed in the resolution settings. Is there a way to change this? Be it a config file or what-not? Anyone looked into this? 1280X1024 seems just a little too much for my system. I'm running 512mb video memory and 4GB of system RAM. 2.8Ghz Core Duo. So i dont think there would be a problem with my system handling it at say 1024X768.

Any info will be appreciated.

It looks like your video card may be on the fuzzy edge of not being strong enough to run RoF.

RoF will NOT work correctly at a lower resolution ... You may lose most of the menu buttons off the bottom of your screen for example.

Sandman,

I figured it out. I actually got my copy to run at 1024x768, also at 800x600, without losing any of the normal view at 1280x1024. Works with both windowed and fullscreen settings. Only thing is, if you run ROF and go to settings and change something, you have to re-open the config file and change your resolution again back to your preference.

While nowhere near as "clean and crisp" looking as the normal resolution, it does in fact make the game very playable on lower end systems.

If no one would mind I'd be happy to post more specific info such as which file and where to change values.

Well done! Yes, please post specific file changes necessary, it may be very helpful to others.

Good point about not entering the settings menu after making a manual edit of the cfg file. Much like making a non-standard resolution work in IL-2, you don't open the IL2 config program without having to manually replace your settings.

I hadn't tried lower resolution settings myself (having taken the documentation at face value... like the silly git I am). Glad you got it working smile

I will create a new thread for this, and post the info I just typed up.
