If you are using TrackIR and a force feedback stick, plug these devices directly into motherboard USB sockets (usually found at the back of the PC case, consult your motherboard manual) rather than into USB hubs. For some systems, TrackIR devices may draw more power than some off-motherboard USB ports/hubs can deliver: operation may then become unreliable

Hi

I can use TIR and a Belkin n-52 in a bus together, but I can not have my G25, TIR and n-52 all plugged into it at the same time or TIR will act up.

So, like Ming suggest, it is best to plug any FFB device into the pc's usb. I use my front panel usb for my wheel and also for my x45 and pedals when flying. I use the bus for TIR and the n-52 only.

Sorry TF that was a heads-up from Naturalpoint support, it wasn't something I discovered

Although to be fair to myself I already know about powering USB ports and the 500mA limitation, hardware chap. Those IR LEDs must be cranking out a few milliamps <dons shades> No not really Smile2

A powered USB hub should be ok too to fulfil the power requirement, but I like to keep vital kit as close to the motherboard as possible

Perhaps a USB mouse slot (one normally in use for the mouse I mean) could swap with TIR's connection for testing if one has only limited USB ports, you'd soon notice if that caused problems for the mouse and could try something else: whereas flaky TIR operation (sometimes not working properly, usually when someone's on your tail) might be difficult to track down
