Why unfortunately?

I made assumptions while comparing products, rather than finding facts.

Phantom Warrior flashlight - designed for use by the U.S. military. I picked up the version for medical personnel while in Iraq, and it's still going strong.

Oh no, not the infamous "bang me" flashlight. As in having to bang it on something to get it to work! I ditched mine as quickly as I could in favor of a nice maglite. The little one for the field, naturally, though I usually just carried some of the tiny chemlights and put one in my mouth. Just enough light to read a map!

For reliability, I like the full sized maglite. In a pinch, one can find the burglar and then beat him to death with it in the middle of the night!

Small flashlights are over-rated, IMHO, as I tend to only need them when it's dark. Reach into the closet or under the seat of the truck and no problem finding the humongerous light club!

The opinions of this poster are largely based on facts and portray a possible version of the actual events.

Man, I have Mags - a mini, a 3C, a 2D, and a 6D.

They served me well for years, no doubt - and they all still work.

But now they're all sitting without batteries. No way would I stock batteries for them over my Surefire (jeez I almost sound like a commercial, but there's plenty around here to know I'm no shill for them...)
