For a while on the RoF website, it said that 64bit wasn't officially supported. It was then changed to say either 32bit/64bit is fine.

So, what's the story? It seems a funny misprint to specifically say that 64bit isn't supported. Was it changed to not scare away customers, or is it legitimately supported?

Furthermore, is the game then not optimized for 64bit? If it's not, will it ever be? That seems to be a large oversight for such an otherwise cutting edge game.

Also, what about Windows 7? Anyone try it with the Russian release?

(And while I'm here... Do you know why I bought Men of War? It's a fantastic WWII RTS game, sure, but I bought it because it's a real game. I own it. It's DRM free. I stick in the disc, install, and play. And more content is still being promised, free... RoF is fine for now, with my very solid Uni connection, but, if my internet ever becomes shaky, or the authentication servers are screwy, I'm going to torrent a REAL, uncrippled version that I can play whenever I want. I'm sick of game publishers thinking they can screw over their customers... I bought Crysis... I didn't by Warhead. I swore I'd never buy a DRM game. (Except for Steam, Steam works ok. It's a decent distribution platform. I use it. And it works offline. Though, some non-Valve games on Steam include another method of DRM over Steam! Crazy...) But, I've waited too long for RoF. I want it too badly. I have to get this game. But, don't think I'm not pissed. And don't think you're not losing customers. I know you are.)

I've got vista x64 ultimate edition and from most of what i've seen everyone who has RoF has vista x64 and it looks like it runs pretty good to me.

I remember someone with ROF wrote that 64bit is perfectly fine. You should do just fine with 64bit. =).....Men of War, well I get in enough twenty page flame -a- thons attack, I have to pass on making a Men at War remark. wink

Instead of complaining about SPAD 7s, Central pilots should capture and fly them too. I suggest putting an apple in the middle of your Aerodrome field and just wait. Eventually a SPAD 7 will come by to get the apple, cause SPADS can't resist apples. This is how the Entente gets a hold of SPAD 7s, m-kay?

Ah, sounds good, that's what I wanted to hear. Thanks guys.

That was the last thing I was somewhat concerned about, performance-wise. Otherwise, I've got a Q6600@3ghz and a 9800GTX. Seems to be pretty similar to other people's specs around here. I think I should be ok, then...

It doesn't mean it is 64bit enhanced just that it is compatible with 64bit OS. Just like every other game released today is. Only games that don't run on 64bit Vista are games that have 16bit code in them. Well, you can run lots of those too if they are Dos games and you use Dosbox.

You say this, but I've had varying degrees of success gaming on 64bit Vista/XP. I'm just glad it runs fine.

From my testing, Crysis runs only slightly better in 64bit, so, I'm not really too concerned about RoF being 64bit optimized. Not that it wouldn't be nice...

Far Cry was patched to 64bit, if anyone remembers... Crytek Studios is impressive...

ROF works in both 64 and 32, althought they have not coded anything especially for 64 bit. Should run fine on Vista 64 and I'm happy with it.

Hey sdflyer, I see you have no "relative problems". I have some rather pesky relatives smile what can I do to get rid of the problems? smile
