I'll have to check that mission out and let you know. I watched the video, very interesting but what is the "High Vis distance mod" and how can I get it? Thanks.

Here ya go. It's buried on the front page of my site - probably should move it somewhere more findable...

"Gunship! with longer view range

This version of the patched, No-CD gunship.exe has been modified so that most 3D objects now render at the highest detail at all visible distances. This is especially noticable when using the ModM8 winter terrain.

This change affects the appearance of:
-Trees/bushes
-All aircraft
-All city buildings

Ground vehicles are unchanged.

Lower frame rates are to be expected, but it remains playable even on my old 650Mhz with 128MB RAM.

No other changes are in this version. It is fully compatible with the original gunship.exe for multiplayer. No platoons have been changed."

Just unzip into your Gunship directory, and run it instead of the stock gunship.exe. Other than the view distance changes, it is just the stock no-CD exe. Does not alter any other files.

Have fun!

Thanks, the mod works great, I really like the depth it adds to the terrain.

Glad you like it , Monkie. I was amazed what a big change such a simple mod made wrt immersion. I bet things really get cinematic with your smart A-10's in action. Any plans to "educate" the other ground attack aircraft using Samovar Davis Jr's tools?

I took a quick look at the other aircraft, did the same with the Harriers and they also behave more like the A-10's now. I am going to look at the SU-25 but if I remember it seems to use a 155mm DPICM strike for it's Cluster munitions so I might have to look at that one when I get more free time.
