Did I get a used copy? Cuss

I finally found RoF at Walmart last night, but the manual was badly dog-eared, and the map crumpled and torn in 2 places! It looks like Maverick had a good chew on the thing before putting it in the box. wink

I know it sounds trivial, some paper supplements when we're most interested in the software, but this is part of the product and should be pristine coming out of the box.

Not to mention that newqb took a lot of care to include this beautiful glossy map and print material with their product. They should know that in some cases it's reaching the customer in lousy condition.

Blue,

Was the DVD case shrink wrapped? I would take it back to Wal-Mart. Something may have happened to it during packaging or as you suggested returned it and wal-Mart re-sold, but I find that odd.

It was indeed shrink wrapped, practically had the new DVD smell. wink

I couldn't resist installing the software despite this, but maybe I can get Walmart to swap a map out from another package.

Maybe it's just bad luck, but if there are more reports of this then neoqb & Co. should look into possible careless packaging.

Oddly, I've had something similar happen when I bought DCS: Black Shark from Gamestop in NY last month. Nothing ripped but the manual was crammed into the case so that it folded over and creased.

Anyway, can't wait to start flying! pilot

BH,

It's not neoqb who is charge of packaging, it is 777 Studios. That's one of the main functions of a publisher. These were printed and packaged in the U.S. Utah to be exact. I do know that we had an issue with a small batch of units where the robot packaging the units went crazy and ripped some artwork. The replicator told me they were able to fix the issue and all bad items were discarded and re-printed and re-packaged. It is not beyond the realm of possibility that your unit was partially mangled by the robot and this unit slipped though. I will chat with the responsible party.

We've sold thousands of these and you are the first to contact me about this issue. Looks like you're the lucky winner!

I apologize for the issue. Definitely take it back to Wally World and get a new one. If they won't help you let me know.

Man, glad to hear you've got *thousands* of these out the door! thumbsup

I'll see what Wally has to say about it tonight.
