Hi I have some questions. If I purchase OFF3 are some of the planes that are being planned for OFF3 on your website, are they free? Also if you release OFF4 in the future do I need to buy it again or are upgrades free?

Thanks

Hi Rodster,
With P3, Between Heaven and Hell, you get 37 flyable a/c. The list is here:
http://www.overflandersfields.com/Features.htm#Aircraft_List_for_P3:
We are currently building additional a/c; we have not yet finalised the list, but when we have finished them (and I have no idea when that will be), they will be released as an add-on pack. We have not thought about the price, but it will be a bargoon.
P4 will be a year or two or three in the future, and we do not really have any idea what it will look like - we are working on it , but it is pretty much a mouse eye view of an elephant. Again, we have not even begun to consider price.
Cheers,
shredward

Thanks Shredward, I take it you work for the company? If so is it possible to pay the $29.99 and download OFF3 or does the disc need to be in the drive in order to play OFF3? Now I wish I hadn't thrown CFS3 in the trash a year ago. Oh well Gogamer has it on sale for $10.

Hi Rodster,
Whether you need a disc in the tray depends on which iteration of CFS 3 you have - the original Microsoft CD release requires that Disc 2 be in the tray when you play, while Ubisoft DVD versions do not.
OFF is available on DVD only - no download available. Simply install from the disc, then remove the disc.

Shredward,

Maybe you'll re-consider possibility of letting people download OFF3 after purchase? For me, personally, this physical delivery is one of the problems, stopping me from purchase.:(

Hello Dornil,

i "urge" (lol) you to get the CFS3 DVD from Ubisoft - it is available new for 9,99 $, or cheaper at eBay. With the DVD you do not need to install anything of CFS3, it is just some kind of "lend and lease" action with Microsoft, to legally use the CFS3 engine for OFF.

You install OFF, and will be asked for inserting the CFS3 CD or DVD into the tray - if you have the DVD you enter it and remove it after some seconds, then the installation of OFF continues and you will never need to think of CFS3 again. And you will not even be reminded of anything CFS3 while playing OFF, i promise :-). This is a completely different beast.

And no i'm not member of the OFF team, and i will also get RoF as soon as it's available in Europe. I am almost happy it is not yet available so the first bugs may be sorted out in time, including this "registration rallye" lol.

Greetings,
Catfish

Gogamer is also selling the DVD version which is the import version for $9.99, not sure if it's UBIsoft though.

OFF has arrived in mailboxes all over the world, with almost no problem. Arrival times vary from a few days to two or three weeks, depending on the efficiency of your postal service.

Look at it this way... you an also buy it for 39 Dollar without shipping costs wink

Still very much worth it. My biggest regret is that I waited so long to buy it.

I hear what your saying but look how much more they would sell if OFF was sold thru Amazon or Gogamer. It would make the product price point more attractive. Better yet they could have dropped the price to $20.99 with $9 shipping and it would have hit my price sweet spot. biggrin

$9 covers all over the world either way 29.99 +9 is a bargain anyway now, I'm sure most people would agree who took the plunge - ask in the main forums at Combat Ace?

I agree. It is ten bucks on top just for shipping. I just pre-ordered Win7 and shipping is only $1.99.

Have patience, after the release of IL2-CK, it will be $19,99!!!!
Sorry but next Ph4 release, I will wait and not going for the full $49,99.
But I must admit it is a nice game!!!!!

Why not going for RoF, I have pre ordered ROF, it will cost me 39,99 euro (incl. shipping and Tax) and no CFS3 or IL2 CD is needed here.

Take it for what you will but I think advertising OFF in the RoF forum is decidedly bad form.

If people are interested in OFF they'll already be over at your site.

Why is in the ROF forum? Doesn't this belong in buy/sell/trade, or at a minimum, the OFF forum? If people are interested in OFF, I'm sure they'll hop a few links over to the OFF forum. I have enough ROF stuff to sort through here; the last thing I want to see is a solicitation of OFF in the ROF forum.

Advertising for your product in another game's forum.

Sorry, but that's low class.

Yes Bull. Very bad form indeed! Shame on you. Because everyone knows people couldnt possibly own and enjoy both OFF and ROF.. Wait I think I did read it on this forum, someone might have typed that people could in fact own and enjoy both. No I must have dreamt it. nope

Ok gents.

Look, OFF looks to be a pretty good game. I might pick it up later myself. ROF is a pretty good game. I'm not completely comfortable with the idea of advertising another product here but there is plenty of crossover as far as interest goes so please don't slag on Polovski.

Thanks.

Whether "OFF looks to be a pretty good game" is really not relevant to the ROF forum in my opinion. I guess this is why we have separate forums for separate games here right? If you think OFF threads belong in the ROF forum, then we might as well just get rid of these subforums and have one big WWI forum. I certainly don't think that's a good idea though.

Tom, it is an excellent and immersive sim. But who put the thread here ? Only admin can move a thread from one site to another right ? I don't understand the purpose of it .... it's just encouraging cheap shots.

Well, I have ROF and OFF3, they are both great sims. ROF has it good points and so does OFF3. Here is one reason I like OFF3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gYcuOLVeK10

Just a quick vid I did. Best seen in HQ smile

No one here is arguing the points for and against OFF and RoF. No one is saying you can't have both. The argument is about advertising another similar product on another game's forum. For me this a big no no.

You'll like it a lot if you liked RB3D (I tried it, SDOE:WWI and FE, settled on OFF).

At the risk of incurring the rather of SimHQers, I would recommend that once you've received it you toddle over to the CombatAce forums, as the OFF presence is far more pronounced there, and any issues you might encounter can probably be handled more promptly and completely there.
