Just wanted to give you guys in Texas something to do while waiting for ROF to be released.

Pioneer Flight Museum

Old Kingsbury Aerodrome is located in Kingsbury Texas (Near Seguin/East of San Antonio). My wife and kids are taking me here for Father's Day. Should be fun, lots of cool early era planes. If I lived closer I would be there all the time.

I am mainly going to see the flying Fokker Dr 1 and Dr 7 and Thomas Morse Scout.

That's awesome! Wow, and I wanted to go to Texas to check out a WWI air library collection too. Hmm, might possibly drive out there smile

Thought I would post some pics from the Fly In for all to see.

Here is the full set to view:
http://cid-10bb818a8d8ea312.skydrive.live.com/browse.aspx/.Public

Got there pretty late thanks to Houston traffic but got to see a Neuport 28 replica fly and got to meet Roger Freeman the founder of the Vintage Aircraft Museum there. He flew in the movie Waldo Pepper that was filmed in Texas and said that what influenced him to eventually move here. He flew with Frank Tallman in many other movies as well.

He flys all of the planes in the collection and has many other projects waiting in the hangars around the field. I saw another DVII waiting to be completed as well as an SE5. He also is restoring a Great Lakes biplane.

Had a great time there.

Enjoy,

Mike
