Anyone not happy with their preordered copies due to this disasterous and unforgivable catastrophe of pandemic proportions please divert said copy to my PO Box address. Will send PM with details to interested parties.

Wow.. I saw this coming. I don't understand why they make a release date, when they know they will just push the date back, making customers unhappy.

How about releasing the digital download version first? June 25th for the DVD? Why set a date? The U.S. release has been a botch job special. At this point, I would just like to play ROF, DVD with map or no DVD with map. Didn't DCS offer the U.S. a digital download, before a U.S. DVD version?

Guys,

We pushed the date a bit more to be cautious. If I keep giving micro-delays of a few days or hours you'll just get more and more upset. I said a couple more days, but when you do that everything kind of backs up like a freeway traffic jam. Too many moving parts. I apologize again for the delay.

The anger though is a bit off putting. I'm trying to get this to you as soon as I can as best I can. If they had gone with another publisher you'd be waiting even longer for it. What more can I do? Many, many games get delayed for various reasons. Oleg's BOB is over 2 years late from the original date listed on GoGamer. Is anyone BOLD TYPING at Oleg's team? Give me the benefit of the doubt please.

How many publishers come here to tell you about the delay in person? Did EA come here to tell you why they pushed Spinter Cell Conviction 6 months after they showed a working copy at E3?

Is anyone screaming at Bohemia Interactive for not releasing ArmA II in the USA the same day as Europe? But when it's reversed there is severe angst about the ROF release calendar. Why is the flight-sim community so darn irritable all the time?

neoqb, 777 Studios and Compuexpert have worked long and hard and spent a lot of money to get this to you as soon as possible and (hopefully) free of any major bugs. What more can you ask for?

I know it's not the majority of you guys, but those that are constantly nit picking and showing disdain for the effort here on ROF really makes this line of work less and less appealing. I'm not the only flight-sim industry person to feel this way either.

Ever try convincing an investor to invest in your flight-sim product? Well let me tell you, when you do the first thing THEY do is investigate the feasability, sales potential and market of such a product. You know what they find? Unabashed negativity, anger and unchecked egos on these types of boards and it turns them off. It's not the "great silent majority" that I know exists in this community's fault, but it's the nay-sayers that berate well intentioned developers and publishers and mercilessly bash their products because of a minor issue with a bullet trajectory or a cockpit dial. You wonder why there aren't more sim products? That's one BIG reason why.

For those that understand this little delay you have my utter appreciation. For those that have pre-ordered or will buy ROF you have my complete and total gratitude. I'm working hard for you guys, I appreciate the patience and support very very much.

Jason

MJ,

If you worked in retail distribution you'd know why things are they way they are with ROF. It's not a botched release by any means. Again, look at other releases that have been delayed by a couple weeks or more. Are they botched too?

I understand there's a weekend to consider, but 8 days is a stretch from a couple of extra days. On second thought, I don't want to know.

With all due appreciation for all of the effort put into ROF, I would really like to play ROF. DCS introduced a digital download version of Black Shark , in the U.S. market, before the DVD edition. Why is that option off the table? Compuexpert failed to meet several deadlines. Compuexpert is not doing me a favor, making money off of me. I believe that many U.S. and International customers would be better off with a digital download version.

MJ,

All I will say is that digital is coming. And CompuExpert didn't fail at anything. They are doing their job and selling the game to retailers. Direct all your criticism at me only if you want to criticize anyone.

Maybe they find that due to the pushbacks of release dates, which makes already unhappy customers, even more unhappy.
