Ivan,

No, the G940 pedals do not connect to the G940 joystick via a gameport connector. A gameport connector is a 15-pin interface. The Logitech connectors for the G940 (which are the same as they use on the G25 components) are 9-pin connectors.

9-pin connectors make sense. It's probably 3x3 pins for the hall sensors of the X/Y/Z-rotation with each +5V / GND / Input.

Of course it would be enough to use 5 pins: Only one time the +5V and GND and 3x Input for X/Y/Z-rotation. So are there any extra functions on the pedals except for the three axes? Any buttons, switches, and so on?

No, there are just the three axes on the pedals. We learned something interesting from Logitech's Mark Starett, however: the throttle and rudder connections on the joystick base are actually interchangeable. That means you can plug in either controller element into either connector. The pictures are only there, Mark says, "to prevent people from asking 'which one do I plug it into?' over and over". smile

The throttle has lots of buttons plus 4 axes, so 9 pins makes sense. Since the same connector is used for the G25, Logitech is saving costs by using the same part as well.

Is there any information available for the dimensions of the Logitech G940 stick, throttle and pedals? I need to factor in an additional HOTAS layout for my gaming desk along with factoring in an additional set of rudder pedals. Thanks in advance!

Which brings up the question: What happens when you plug in two throttles? biggrin

This rig looks rather sweet! I must say, I was sceptical about the design at first, but I have observed it tends to grow on you. I am a little concerned about the throttle design. In the X52 the throttle is a perfect match for my palm and I can use it as rest, even when I'm not actively using it. It is a somewhat minor concern though.

About the request for dimensions, I would also like those, if they are available, particularly for the pedals. Plus another request of my own. I have heard from various sources, that the system is expected to be on the market around September, but simw.com lists June 22th as the release date. Does anyone have something definitive on this regard? I don't intend to make a purchase before Sep, but I'd prefer to wait a few months after the release date, just to see what other people have to say about it and in case any quirks pop up.

edit: Also kudos to the Logitech design team for including all three trim tabs. I would have preferred that elevator trim were on the stick, but still the inclusion of the other two, should make life a lot easier. Do we know whether they have a limited range of motion or whether they rotate indefinitely?

Logitech told us that intended release was sometime in September.

All of the rotaries on the stick and throttle have fixed ranges of motion.

Ok its not a gameport, but since its not USB it means the pedals cant really be sold as a seperate item and that is a shame imo.

Correct, the pedals (or throttle) will not be sold separately. It will be interesting to see if Leo Bodnar has any plans to make one of his USB boards that will support independent connection of either of these devices (he made one for the G25 pedals).
