I'm a lefty too, and the first stick i got was a birthday present: The old Logitech Wingman Extreme, a total righty stick.
And there was never a discussion about where the mouse had to be... my father probably would have killed me after a while, if i had put it to the left side of the keyboard all the time, and switched the buttons and so on.
BTT: The Logitech G940 is indeed a fantastic setup. FF + split throttle, i would never have thought, that this would be possible again.
Because the market showed nothing like that for a long time, i was given enough reasons to mod my own one:
The Suncom SFS Throttle is still to be modded to USB, but my setup can be combined in any way:
F-15E Talon + Pro Throttle + Pro Pedals
F-15E Talon + SFS Throttle + Pro Pedals (soon!)
CH Force FX + Pro Throttle + Pro Pedals
CH Force FX + SFS Throttle + Pro Pedals (soon!)
Building that up was a long way, and i am still not completely done. What my setup will have advantages in comparison to the G940, is that it is definitely more realistic than the G940, which is a kind of fantasy HOTAS. Therefore, there will be a lack of programmability for me (mine consists of the guts of a Wingman Strike Force 3D + BU0836), and the ability to trim with extra wheels. Hmmm, let's see, my BU still has a lot of axes over i could use for something...

I just wanted to show you that there ARE alternatives, but buying a plug'n play setup which can do everything from the start i had to work very hard for IS fascinating.
