To answer the last three posts:

G940 shows up in Windows as three devices - Stick, Throttles, rudder pedals. IL-2 happily detects the axes when you assign them in the HOTAS section of controller setup. IL-2 does not support analog separate engine controls or separate toe brakes, but does support analog trim of elevator, aileron and rudder.

I'm sure that reviews of G940 will begin showing up shortly. Review units have gone out. I use a G940 in Black Shark, and painstakingly entered 9 pages of commands into a specific profile for G940. It did not make the CD release, but will be available for download, and go into later software releases.

Finally, Hi Ron! Good to see you're still at it. I don't think the X36 would have been nearly as successful without your site. G940 shouldn't need that much help, but Logitech is happy to have dedicated fan support sites for our products. G15forums.com has been a good companion site for the G15 gaming keyboards and we encourage it.

Good to see that the flight sim niche still gets support from HW manufacturers!

A thought about the trim controls: it looks as if the trim wheels are at the base of the joystick unit. Seems unpractical to me, since you want to be able to adjust trim without letting go of the control stick. Trim controls on the throttle unit would have made more sense.

Yes. The metal looking one is the microstick.

So that last paragraph should actually read: "This is a practical decision based on the user base, flight simulation software base, and the ability to deliver a high quality user experience on the Windows platform."

Quite sad, I will have to put that G940 order on hold then.

My ubuntu PC is a PC. My Thrustmaster Hotas Cougar works fine with it, albeit with some limitations.

I would stretch a guess that, just like any other HID device (such as the Coug), it ought to also be detected in Linux as well, with the same caveats that exist with the Cougar, i.e. no programming functionality.
