A good marketing move would be to make a version of the pedals with a USB connection. I think you would sell heaps of them.

What's is the expected release times between software version for this unit?

At present I am running on 5.08 which was published a day before I bought the unit which was great as it has many bugs from what I have read ironed out of the system. I was just curious if Logitech had certain standards which meant a software version a month or more often than a month...etc

Also I have the problem of the Throttle running only between 10-75% and cannot get it to idle or Afterburners. I have tried all the other suggestions to get around this but don't seem to be able to do so.

If I calibrate in Windows I can see the Throttle is at 0% and then at 100% when I move it. In FSX, the bug occurs. I have calibrated in game and out of game. No joy.

Also my brakes are sticking too. If I click Parking brake and then release it releases, however the toe brakes seem to want to always been enabled.

They are my only two issues at the moment with the unit. Everything else is very fluid. I must say flying a two engine aircraft with two throttles... that was a lot of fun. However the constant hover I get in a helicopter cause of the throttle issue, isn't. However makes you look like you can hover really well!!!

So any suggestions on those two issues would be great or is this also an issue logitech is looking into with their software (the throttle issue) as from what I have read I am not the only one with that problem.

Many thanks for a sensational unit.

I had the same problem with FSX (for me it only used 25% to 75%). Turned out that it was the sensivity set to 50% for all the axis in FSX calibration options which caused it. Once I turned it up to 100% for all axis it worked fine.

One problem I have with the G940 is actually when it's "resting", i.e. outside of any game when and when I'm not holding it. It will suddenly (may be hours after last use) move to the bottom right corner, and apparently using a lot of force to keep it there. It will then also become very hot, and if I try to use it in a game after it's been in that position for some time it will often just completly fail. I guess it may be overheating? If I unplug it and let it cool for a while it will work again once I plug it back in.

I also notice that if I grip the stick while it's in this forced bottom right position, then the force will dissapear and it moves back to center. So it's only while the sensor which detects if you're holding the stick is not covered this happens. I thought the sensor was supposed to do the oposite, turn off forces when the stick is not used, not use a lot of force when no one is holding the stick.

Currently I unplug the stick whenever I'm not using it, but that's a bit bothersome. Do you think it would be better to just cover the sensor, and let the stick think I'm always holding it? Or could that have other bad effects?

Both things mentioned above are due to FS X default settings of sensitivity at 50%. Turn up the sensitivity, in the game for these axes. In the case of the toe brakes, adding a little null zone (10-20%) fixes them dragging.

I'll look into that with the team. It shouldn't go anywhere but center when the dead man switch isn't covered. The stick does have a thermal protection system, so if it gets hot, forces reduce, or even shut down, until things cool down.

Unplugging the power connector during long periods when you aren't playing isn't a bad idea - it will save some energy too. You can leave the USB plugged in. The stick is fully functional, except for forces, when the mains power is disconnected.

BradH,

What do you mean abou the constant hover you get because of the throttle. I am a little confused. Just curious because I just got my G940 and am trying to come to terms with it.

Thanks,

Brett

I managed to snag a G940 from a Canadian reseller and I have been pretty impressed. I followed some instructions on the DCS forums (with regard to Black Shark) and it seemed to clean up most of the weirdness I was seeing. However I am still experiencing a few issues and I was wondering if other people in the community had some quick fixes?

1. There is a little 'play' around the center position. The DCS forums helped me remove most of this but I am still seeing small movement (where the motors do not resist very much at all) around the center position of the stick. I am seeing this in X-Plane as well. Any hints? Maybe I am missing something simple here?

2. When I move the stick (X or Y axes) I am feeling what I can describe only as a series of small 'dents'. This makes moving the stick feel like I am hitting a bunch of speed bumps that seem to be related to the position of the stick. It is almost like, as I move the stick forward, I am climbing a small series of steps. Anyone else seeing this?

Unplugging just power doesn't seem to help. Well it helps in that the force dissapears, but once I reconnect power later it till just move back in the bottom right corner.

Today I had it happen in a game too. What I first noticed was that the ingame controls would go completely cracy, moving the in-game stick all over the place. I could feel anything while holding the stick, but when I let go of it, the real-life stick would start moving like that too, very fast between center and bottom right. Almost looked (and sounded!) like it was trying to smash itself to pieces. After a while it came to rest in the bottom right corner, like it usually does when it acts up.

Hmm, it seems to be getting worse. When I reconnected it now, it started moving back and forwards (still without holding it, and outside of any game now), before coming to rest in the bottom right. Usually it stops doing that when I disconnect and reconnect it.

I recommend contacting support immediately. Something isn't right and Logitech will arrange an exchange.
