The other thread I started got to big... I only have 2 days before I leave for E3...so want to get this info out to the fan base ASAP.
IMO, you should wait for ArmA2 to be patched and released in NA, you should still play ArmA1...exspecially on Monday night, (our weekly Military Monday event here at SimHQ). You should only buy the German version of ArmA2 if you have some money to blow, and just need to know...otherwise WAIT. (IMO).
Be ADVISED... I am using the just released German patch, v1.01 AND the English mod which seems to work great.
Here is the interface and different areas of ArmA2:
I did a couple of the single player missions... IMO... the AI teammates are still idiots and get injured a lot... I spend more time healing my team then fighting the enemy... that said the AI is better then ArmA1... Smoke works, cover fire works, suppression and flanking...
On another mission, I filmed it... called in a tactical air strike then assault the objective... worked well... we all lived and succedded... BUT for some reason FRAPS will not film long segments in ArmA2, the sound goes out, and sometimes after review the images never took... so won't be seeing to many more videos from me till i can figure it out... but here is a short video with highlights... of course the last min went black so you don't see the firefight... but you hear the sounds, see the support, hand signals, etc etc
thats all folks... got to get ready for work soon, night shift, with the family tomorrow... at E3 Monday... hope i got you some info on what looks to be one hell of a upcoming (US release) game... To me, IMO, it looks like the developers listened and learned from all the great modders out their and great online server team like SimHQ, Tactical Gamer, and especially Shack tactical, (you can tell a lot of their work and ideas made it into this game.)
The AI is still stupid, theirs plenty of bugs but over all based on 3 strait days of playing, Miss work, Armed Assault 2 is going to be one hell of a tactical game, especially for multi-player groups like ours... See ya at E3, if not...don't forget to follow SimHQ at E3 via twitter, posting, and nightly articles and info.
